Like the R Season, SailorStars is divided into two arcs: The first arc (also filler) solves some conflicts from the SuperS season, and also sees the return of the Outer Senshi, Haruka, Michiru, Setsuna, and Hotaru (now reborn as a child). The second arc is the actual plot from the manga. Usagi bids farewell to Mamoru, who is going to America to study abroad. In his place comes the Three Lights, an idol trio consisting of three boys, Seiya, Taiki, and Yaten. The new enemy is Galaxia, a woman who desires to rule the entire galaxy by collecting the Star Seeds of humans. Three new Senshi appear, the Sailor Starlights, who also intend to stop Galaxia without Sailormoon's help.
Hotaru Tomoe has visions of Eternal Sailor Moon. Setsuna arrives at the Tomoe house to pick her up. The girls and Mamoru gather in the park to discover that Chibi-Usa is returning to the future. Meanwhile, Queen Nehelenia is freed from her mirrored prison by an unseen voice. As Chibi-Usa uses her time key to return to Crystal Tokyo with Diana, Nehelenia remembers the events that happened before she had been sealed in the mirror again and she produces her own soul-mirror. Angered, she breaks the mirror and shards fly everywhere. The Soldiers view the shards as shooting stars, but Mamoru recieves one of them in his eye as Chibi-Usa is about to step into the time portal. Unfortunately, the portal disappears leaving the girls puzzled. Later that night, many people gather at an aquarium, including Haruka and Michiru. Some of the nightmare shards land on the roof and form into Nehelenia's Mirror Paredories. Haruka and Michiru are surrounded when Dead Scream is used and Sailor Pluto appears w
Michiru and Haruka are suprised to see that Hotaru has grown into her normal age, and Sailor Saturn appears. Neherina talks with Mamoru.
Mamoru is in danger.
Chibiusa is not doing so well after Mamoru is captured, she begins to disappear because without Mamoru she cannot exist.
Moon struggles to save Mamoru.
Sailor Moon and friends finally defeat Neherina for good, and rescue Mamoru from her. Now everyone is okay, but Chibiusa and Diana decide to leave for the future for good.
With Neherina down, everything seems to be okay, that is until Galaxia and her animates show their ugly heads. Now, Sailor Moon and gang have another problem, the Sailor Starlights, friend or foe? Also, Usagi watches the departure of Mamoru who heads off to college in America.
Everyone at Usagi's school is excited that the Three Lights are transferring to Juuban High. Seiya gets Usagi to show him all the clubs in school. The football team's captain is turned into a phage named ""Sailor Guts"" by Iron Mouse. The other Inner Senshi are shocked to learn about the new soldiers.
Minako becomes the Starlights assistant. Usagi also follows her. Sailor Tin Cat takes Saki's star seed. ESM and Venus soon restore it.
