Soun Tendo, head of the Tendo Dojo, is overjoyed by the news that Ranma and his father, who have been training in the arts of Kung Fu in China, is returning to fulfill his promise of wedding one of his three daughters.
Ranma transfers to Furinkan High School where Akane also attends. Much to Ranma’s surprise, a group of athletes aggressively greet Akane at the school gate.
