Amagiri Ayato is the male protagonist of Gakusen Toshi Asterisk. Ayato's main objective behind entering Seidoukan Academy is to find his elder sister and to find a purpose in life. He and Julis become tag partners in the Phoenix Festival. He becomes the new rank #1 of Seidoukan Academy after defeating Toudou Kirin, the previous rank #1.

Claudia has attended Seidoukan Academy since the first year. She became Student Council President in middle school and has had three terms thus far. Age: 14, 19-20 (Exodus) Birthday: November 11 Maya is an amazing mix of compassion, genuine sweetness, and steel. She has a surprising inner strength as we see in how calmly she thinks under pressure, her willingness to defy authority when she feels it is in the wrong, and her selfless courage in defending her loved ones no matter the situation. She is also extremely observant and sees much more deeply into other people's feelings than they are often willing to show. Her sweet nature translates into an impressive battle persona of icy-calmness. She is the best sniper of the Fafner pilots and eventually becomes the pilot of Mark VII. Maya lives with her mother Chizuru and elder sister Yumiko, who are both doctors. They run a small hospital out of their house. Maya is very close friends with Hazama Shouko and seems to develop a crush on Kazuki over the course of the series.

Yumiko is Maya's elder sister and a doctor/CDC operator. She acts as a mentor to the fafner pilots, so they would have pleasant memories besides fighting. She used to dream about being an idol in Tokyo before realizing the actual situation. Yumiko dated Michio before his departure, only for their relationship to rekindle after he came back. She later moves in with Michio in order to make the best of what's left of their lives, and is the first naturally fertilized woman in Japan in 30 years.

Real name Marco Togni. An agent of Section 2 and Angelica's handler. After being suspended from military service due to an injury to his left eye, Marco was recommended by his friend Dr. Bianchi to be the handler of Angelica, the first child assassin of Section 2. While taking care of Angelica, Marco told her stories of "The Prince of the Land of Pasta" a fictional prince who ate only pasta. He spent much time looking for ideas for the story. This fascinated his girlfriend at the time, Patricia, who later wrote and published the storybook "The Prince of the Land of Pasta", a copy of which Marco bought and read for Angelica. As time went on, Marco witnessed Section 2 develop into an effective combat unit and Angelica's tremendous potential as an assassin. Sadly, Angelica also was the first girl to experience the side-effects of the conditioning process, particularly long-term memory loss. Disgusted with the many setbacks that resulted afterwards, Marco felt that any further effort was in vain, and had no desire to continue, and takes an impersonal and critical approach to Angelica's training.
