He had given his wives keys to every room in the castle, but forbid them from going into a certain room. His first wife, Annie, disobeyed him and went into the room anyway and discovered his secret about the beard. Annie felt that it was not the beard that magically made him not a weakling, but himself. She wanted to Blue Beard to step out as himself, but Blue Beard felt that she purposely wanted to disgrace him--so he killed her. The very same fate fell upon each and every one of his wives after that. Blue Beard attempted to kill Ludwig as well after finding out his secret, but is impaled by a weather vein in a freak accident. Using his last breath he regretted ever killing Annie because she was the only women who had ever loved and accepted him for who he was.

Nagi is Kai's "Only friend" and may be in a relationship with Kai. He appears near the end of the 1st episode. He vows to protect Kai from anyone who hurts him, He hates Shou for hurting Kai. She is the older sister of Hirono Hiro and has a talent for painting. Her brother uses her name for his work as a mangaka. She likes to paint herself nude, but lost her ability to draw because she felt alone for some time. She regains her ability to draw later and she is some kind of art teacher for Yuu Himuro, who she loved back at highschool. She was engaged with Kuze for a short time and is a friend of Mizuki later. Her character is energetic but also very kind. She has short brown hair, brown eyes and wears glasses in the present time of the second ef story.

She then started to avoid going to school and talking to anyone aside her family, turning into a hikikomori. The only one that Nagi really trusts is her brother, Yamato, that took care of her and encouraged her when she was lonely, giving her a rabbit doll that she later gave the name of "Yamato #2", since she talks to the doll when her brother isn't home. At first, Nagi disliked Mei since she thought Mei was a weird girl that wasn't good for her brother, but after talking to Mei about her problems and hearing Mei's advices, Nagi started to like her a lot. When she befriends Mei, she gives one of her handmade teddy bears to her, so that he can be Mei's like Yamato#2 is hers. Nagi and Mei exchange e-mails from time to time, specially about cooking tips.
