Nina seems to be reluctant when she meets him but grows to accept him as a friend and to enjoy his company.

She is a "Class A" spy (who carries suitable business cards) employed by the government to retrieve information on Lagu by infiltrating Hagen's army dressed as a black Delmo. She runs into Rion and ends up following her. After having been abandoned by her employers and her subsequent rescue by Aika and her friends, she went freelance. He has a sickly younger sister who has been receiving medical treatment outside the prefecture and has only recently returned to Tokyo. Upon his introduction, Iori's score on the most recent examination results in the rankings of everyone below Hikari to drop by one place. He also wants to get first place, so Hikari sees him as both a rival and a friend. He works part-time in order to earn money for a dream he wants to fulfill, even if it is against school rules to do so, and lives in one room apartment by himself.
