A mysterious and fairly unemotional woman, Nakiami makes her first entrance when she jumps in and subdues the enraged Xam'd, turning him to stone and demanding that he come with her and live, or die. Akiyuki accepts, and she knocks him and Haru out with a few small movements. She then takes Akiyuki back to the ship with her, and starts operating on Akiyuki and working with his condition. Nakiami is a fairly serious and skilled person, who bears similar face marks to other mysterious characters related to the Xam'd and seems to have a lot of knowledge and expertise about it. She is a member of Benikawa's crew and flies a small jet-like vehicle. It has been noted that her character design and vehicle both share large resemblances to Nausicaa, and it may have been an inspiration for her character.

A mysterious figure who watches Souta and his interactions with the various girls. Though she seems antagonistic, she has also helped them out, such as eliminating a renegade android attacking Souta, Nanami, and Hakua. She is later revealed to be Kagura Bladefield, the founder of the Bladefield Principality, who also bears a striking resemblance to Nanami, one of the current princesses of the kingdom.

Mahiro Fuwa has left a month ago to find his family's killer without any clues to who it might be. When Yoshino is held at gun-point, Mahiro comes out of nowhere and swiftly saves him and can stop bullets in mid-air, claiming to have a deal with a sorceress; not just any, but the strongest sorceress, Hakaze Kusaribe, who promised to help find his family's killer with her magic so he can kill the killer himself. After saving Yoshino, Mahiro informs him about the epidemic, a curse that turns living things into metal, claiming Kusaribe clan plans to revive the Tree of Zetsuen that could destroy the world. Despite dating many older women, the only one Mahiro ever truly loved was Aika, something that he himself has trouble accepting and passing off his desire for her not to date anyone as simply him being a protective brother. He starts to consider the fact that he truly loved her after Hanemura's statement about his obsession toward Aika. When Hakaze falls in love with Yoshino, he is asked by Samon to kill Yoshino in fear that Yoshino will use that love to manipulate Hakaze into altering the world. However Mahiro declines saying that despite his betrayals he will look out for Yoshino because they are friends. Even after discovering that Yoshino was Aika's boyfriend he still doesn't get angry with him nor desires to get revenge on Yoshino. Mahiro has taught Hanemura how to control his magic and how to use it in combat, bullying him and beating him in the process. Hanemura was the main suspect of being Aika's killer but even so Mahiro developed a deep friendship with him. After watching Aika's video he goes with Yoshino to the Fuwa grave, where he stated that he won’t live like Aika, who thought she’d live in a play someone else wrote. He said he’ll write his own script and live how he wants. He also says that once Yoshino has a new girlfriend, he’ll be a stranger to Aika, but Mahiro will always be her big brother. In the final chapter of the manga we see that he entered university with Yoshino and has a girlfriend called Hayashi Mimori, who happens to be the girl he saved from the iron syndrome before the start of the series.

Age: 13 The main protagonist of the story, Alexander is a young Qwaser of Russian origin that controls the element of Iron, with which he can manipulate the said element on a molecular level, thus being capable not only to morph it in any form he wishes, but also create extreme heat or cold. He was held captive and trained with the other Qwasers into harnessing his powers, and survived the brutal ordeal thanks to the affection received from an older girl named Olja, and whose murder by the Qwaser of Gold he witnessed. He received a large scar on the left side of his face from the same Qwaser. The scar is shaped like an Eastern Cross, and tends to bleed heavily when he draws upon his powers. Sasha appeared out of nowhere on the grounds of St. Mihailov, and was quickly accepted into the school as a student of class 1-A, the same that Mafuyu Oribe and Tomo Yamanobe attend. He became Tomo's protector because of her resemblance to Olja. Silver-haired with blue eyes, Alexander, or Sasha for short (though he allows only those close to him to call him by this nickname) is usually extremely cold, harsh, and serious, although his weakness for borscht, his favorite dish, can soften him. He slowly changed and warmed to those around him, especially Mafuyu, though he remains extremely fierce when fighting other Qwasers. Usually he fights wielding an enormous black scythe that is at least twice his size. Sometimes he tends to comment on things in Russian.
