The character was taken from a friend of the authors, whose name was also Kaname Chidori, living in Japan. However, the discovery of her Whispered abilities attracts the attention of terrorist organizations. As a result, Sousuke has been assigned by Mithril to protect her. While Sousuke Sagara's battle intuition generally saves her from dangerous situations, she often considers Sousuke's instincts an irritant in daily high school events, leading to countless comical situations. Nonetheless, she and Sousuke continue to grow closer, to the point where they have expressed their feelings for each other. Kaname's Whispered abilities also grant her an inherent knowledge (but not necessarily understanding) of advanced mathematics and science. It is no surprise then, that she consistently achieves top scores in these subjects at school. Her abilities as a whispered, however, are a bit buggy. She does not know her full abilities, and also sometimes enters a near-trance, where she understands Black Technology completely. After a point in the series, she makes it obvious to herself that she likes Sousuke, but that doesn't stop her from hitting him with her Harisen. Kaname is very easy to anger, especially considering Sousuke's antics. A humorous comment made by Kurz Weber about her anger was when he saw her lose her temper and commented, "What happened to my angel?" A majority of the stunts pulled by Sousuke will cause Kaname to go into a rage fit and either hit Sousuke or chew him out. An Amalgam agent and the head of Amalgam's Execution Squads, Gates seems to have two personalities. He is known to be killing his subordinates whenever Gates messes up an operation, hears that an Amalgam-sponsored mission is a failure or doesn't display any regard for life, for the most part when he is angry such as pushing one of a chopper, dragging another down on the swimming pool, shooting an Amalgam terrorist in the head and even played around with Xia Yu Lan's corpse. But on the other hand, Gates showed his intelligence that he was able to note the Arbalest and the M9s that were in Balic. At one point, Gates began to sing Ave Maria while Xia Yu Lan and a group of Amalgam commandos began to kill every armed Balic soldier.One light side about Gates is that he is protective about himself, specially about being bald since the front of his head shows no hair present. "Milka appears in episode six under the care of Seiren. She is a girl with a cruel past who is trapped in her five-year-old body. Milka lives on an island, and has no one to befriend but Seiren and her white tiger, Rascaless. Her initial caretaker was an older woman who used to whip the child as a punishment for such trivial offences as talking back to her. Eventually, the old woman is killed by Rascaless when Milka isn't watching. Initially afraid of Hazuki and Lilith, she warms up to them and has Seiren take them to the villa at the center of the island. Milka's world is subject to periodic reality shifts she calls "rip-rip", during which the sky and the ground rip open as if in an earthquake, only to close without a trace. These drive Milka wild with pain, and she collapses at times. At one point, a "rip-rip" splits the sea, and Milka wanders into the gap, mumbling about crossing the ocean. The rip closes and she is nearly drowned. Hazuki attempts a rescue, but it is Rascaless who saves Milka. Afterwards, Milka realizes Rascaless killed the old woman for her; she thanks him, but asks him never to do such a thing again. Back at the villa, it is revealed that Seiren was grooming Milka to use her magic against Lilith, as revenge for abandoning her. However, Milka apparently has no magical powers even though she does not age. Lilith shrugs it off and tries to reconcile with Seiren, and then sends Milka across the ocean on a ship, at her right age. In the game, Milka is sent to live on the island by her older brother, for whom she has romantic feelings, because of her poor health. Seiren sings on the cliffs everyday to keep all of Milka's brother's soldiers under her spell, and Milka on the island. She also tries to manipulate Milka through her dreams.
