La Folia is an amiable young woman who is also quite observant, though seemingly a relaxed and humoring person. She is the princess of Aldegyr and the third person to make a blood pact with Koujo. Nagisa was a miko and had trained as a spirit medium with her grandmother. She also inherited the blood of a hyper adapter from her mother making her an extremely rare hybrid. After being attacked by the Black Death Emperor Faction she was left in a vegetative state and was brought to Itogami Island to receive special treatment. Unknown to others, Nagisa was being possessed by "Root". Roughly about three and half a year later, "Root" had awakened as the fourth primogenitor in Nagisa's body and hunted the other Kaleid Bloods to consume them. Having no memories of it's own, it began to feed on human's memories as memories are sources of magic and mass vampire turning incident occured creating havoc in Itogami Island. However, Avrora and Kojou managed to destroy "Root". Nagisa managed to transfer Avrora's consciousness inside herself just before she perishes. It is revealed by La Folia that Kanon is actually the illegitimate daughter of her grandfather, which makes Kanon La Folia's aunt, and while Kanon has no claim to the throne of Aldegyr, she is without doubt royalty.

Meryl Stryfe and her junior co-worker Milly were sent by the Bernardelli Insurance Society to evaluate claims regarding Vash the Stampede. Despite her serious attitude and short temper, she is a good person. Although she doesn't often fight alongside Vash, she hides many derringer-style "throwaway" pistols under her coat. She once referred to herself as "Derringer Meryl." Initially, she finds Vash to be a nuisance and dismisses the idea that he is the legendary Humanoid Typhoon. As time passes, she realizes that Vash isn't the villain that he is made out to be nor the buffoon that he presents himself to be. Gradually, she comes to respect Vash and love him deeply. It is also hinted near the end of the anime that she may possibly be the reincarnation of Rem Saverem. This, however, is not present in the manga, and may have been an independent decision by the producers of the anime. Another source of this belief is through the construction of her name, where as Meryl = Mer-yl = Rem It is hinted that Meryl has problems involving her family.
