A short boy who's in Takaya's class, and the first one (other than Takaya) to find out about Lilim. At one point in the story, Lilim has a disagreement with Takaya and stays with Kojima for a while. In that amount of time, Kojima teaches her to write. Unlike the all the other boys at his school (save Takaya), common sense overrules his infatuation with Lilim. He becomes briefly infatuated with the lilim only known as 'Sempai', however, after she gives him his first (French) kiss and steals his lifeforce. Due to this infatuation, he attempts to summon a lilim demon through a magical ritual, but actually conjures the wyvern that will later become Pyu-chan. Even before the events in this story, he has been a bit of an occult fan, due to which he becomes Takaya's main source of information about lilim and the occult in general.

Triangle Heart: Miyuki is actually the cousin of Kyouya and Nanoha, but is raised by their family and she considers them siblings. She is very close to Kyouya, and an accomplished Mikami twin kodachi style swordsman like her brother. She and Kyouya are hired to guard their childhood friend Fiasse, who is now a legendary singer and heiress. Fiasse's real bodyguard, Ellis, is particularly set off by this, and the three guards must learn to deal with and respect each other as they protect Fiasse on her concert tour around the world from someone who seeks to kidnap her. Miyuki and Kyouya work particularly well together, and she is shown as very competent on her own, defeating an entire Special Duties Unit team single-handedly in the first OVA. However, Miyuki does not like to fight, seeing it as simply a duty to protect those one cares about. His bug is a giant Japanese horned beetle that has impressive defense, the bug's massive size also allows it to easily blow away smaller bugs, but otherwise it does not have any special power. Yamato does not show much emotions and is usually remains calm about current situation. Although not being a high rank member (rank 6), he has a high mission sucessful rate and manages to survive in many big battles (including one against "Fuyuhotaru").

The main protagonist, it is believed that he is the strongest host in SEPB. His alias is "Cuckoo" (����, Kakk�, lit. Cleridae). Years ago, he shot Shiika's mushi, and promised her to make her dream come true. However, he does not seem to realize that Shiika was the girl he made the promise to. He has a sister named Chiharu, whose whereabouts are currently unknown. His mushi power manifests in powering a gun he carries. Aria Varei, also known as "Sanbikime (三匹目)" is the most mysterious and least aggressive among all "Original Three". It is gender-less, does not have a human form, and does not have a particular personality. It's physical form is a jade cocoon. When Aria Varei finds a host, it would not turn the host into Mushitsuki, instead it would look for a person in close relation with the host who has a strong desire or wish, and turn that person into Mushitsuki. After that, Aria Varei will leave the host, cause the host to lost all his or her memories about the person turned into Mushitsuki, and about Aria Varei itself. Aria Varei would return to its cocoon state and wait for the next person to have contact with it. Aria Varei communicates with its host in the host's mind by using the voices, tones and personality of the host. But Aria Varei remains an independent will of mind. Aria Varei rarely consumes people's dreams, that is why the "Assimilation Type" of Mushitsuki is very rare. There are only 4 confirmed so far: Daisuke, Mari, Ubuki and Momo It's current whereabouts are unknown, Chami and her company is searching for it. Aria Varei has no offensive means against the others, but it can "fuse" with its host and grant powers such as erasing physical object or going through physical objects. Five years ago, in order to prevent Daisuke's dream being "eaten" by Oogui, Chiharu fuses with Aria Varei to attack Oogui.
