Ansem the Wise was a famous scientist and sage-king of Radiant Garden. To protect his people from the darkness, he and his apprentices performed research and experiments to study the heart, which resulted in the creation of the Heartless. Eventually, Ansem's apprentices were taken over by the darkness, and, when he decided to end the research, they banished him to the Realm of Darkness and Xehanort continued the research in his name.

His specialty is 3 pointers, and can shoot accurately even if under extreme pressure. He's the team's clutch during tough situations. Hyuuga really likes to collect ancient Japanese warrior figurines (ex: Masamune, Yukimura, etc) and treasures them a lot. He got the skill to shoot accurately thanks to his special training, in which when he missed a shot during practice, he had to break one of his figurines. Hyuuga normally has a pleasant personality, but gets arrogant when irritated. He is the son of a barber, and Riko goes to him to have her hair cut. When Hyuuga was in middle school, he was also on the basketball team together with Izuki. Unfortunately, the team was very weak. Despite Hyuuga's shooting ability, they never won once. Hyuuga was discouraged and decided to quit basketball when going to high school and also dyed his hair blond. But he was touched by Teppei's seriousness on forming a basketball club, and he finally joins the team. Then due to Teppei's suggestion and everyone's approval, he became the team's captain. He seems to have a crush on Riko, as shown on chapter 229.

Rumored to be very capable, his preferred position is that of the point guard, but since their team lacked any other player with the body size to play center, he offered to fill that hole. On Koganei's suggestion, he apparently tries to play both, despite the inherent impossibility. While goofy nearly to the point of stupidity, he is very shrewd and is almost always plotting something, though it is rarely what others would inherently conclude. With a pair of big hands that allow him to grasp the ball in play single-handedly, Kiyoshi possesses immense ball-handling skills, and an uncanny sense of timing that allows him to make decisions on-court after his opponents have already reacted. He is renowned and even revered by many players in the realm of high-school basketball, and is one of the few players to have held his own against the Generation of Miracles during their peak. While he is currently able to play, the knee injury he sustained during his freshman year was quite severe: formally speaking it required surgery, but the process would make him unable to play basketball for the rest of his high school career. He instead opted to rehabilitate without invasive procedures, though he would only be able to do so for one year at the best. Despite this setback, he vows to make the most of the time he has. Among high school basketball players, he is one of the 'Uncrowned Kings' (ç„¡å† ã�®äº”å°† [mukan no goshou]), a group of five players, though overshadowed by the Generation of Miracles, of such great prowess and skill, had it not been for Kuroko and his ilk, they may have attained the greater moniker. Famous for his unaccountable form and stabilizing presence, he is known as 'Iron Heart' (鉄心[tesshin]).

School: Touo Academy Number: #9 Position: Shooting Guard Height: 175 cm Weight: 59 kg Age: 16 Birthday: September 9 Talent: Quick Release Shot A first-year regular of the Touou team, Sakurai is the team's Shooting Guard and 'Pre-Emptive Strike Leader'. Able to release the ball very quickly in the midst of a jump shot, opposing players find it almost impossible to effectively time a block to his shots. For this reason he was given his nickname by Imayoshi, as it allows the team to very quickly begin the game with an unexpected and nigh-unblockable three point shot. He possesses a very weak and delicate personality, frequently feeling blame for things that he cannot even control and apologizing for them frequently and comically.
