A treasure hunter who loves jewels, especially the Chaos Emeralds. Due to this, she has found herself fighting against both Sonic's team and Eggman's team, though she tends to side with Sonic most of the time. Her treasure hunting ways have made her a rival to Knuckles, guardian of the Chaos Emeralds. Though confident in her abilities (and a skilled fighter), she knows when to escape, and also knows that fighting is not always the answer.
As the last survivor of his clan, Knuckles lived most of his life in seclusion on Angel Island, an island floating in the air; and as such he is something of a loner. His inexperience with off-islanders leaves him very honest, and also gullible. Knuckles is shy around girls. Although he is cool and determined in battle; his short temper gives rise to situations in which Knuckles, often instigated by the trickery of Dr. Eggman, begins fighting Sonic the Hedgehog. In the anime Sonic X, when Amy asks Sonic why Knuckles wouldn't come with them, Sonic replies "That's Knuckles. He does things his own way." Although he and Sonic fight from time to time, there is an undercurrent of mutual understanding between the two. Ever since the introduction of Shadow the Hedgehog as one of Sonic's darker, more anti-heroic rivals, Knuckles' relationship with Sonic has seen as much more friendly by comparison, and they both rarely fight anymore. Additionally, Knuckles has been tasked all his life as being the Guardian of the Master Emerald, as only descendants of his tribe are capable of controlling it. If Sonic exemplifies the wind, then Knuckles is the mountain: stern and anchored to his duty. However he finds Sonic's adventurous lifestyle enviable. Various literature from the early games list his favorite food as being fruit, or to be more specific, grapes. He also is described as hating strong light; in Casino Park in Sonic Heroes, if you keep the characters still for long enough he'll say, "Everything is so twinkling and bright. I hate it!!" Name: Kankurou Ninja Registration No: 54-002 Age: 14 (I) ; 18 (II) Birthday: 15 May Horoscope: Taurus Bloodtype: B Height: 165 cm (I); 175 cm (II) Weight: 61.2kg(I); 61.2kg (II) Hair: Brown Eyes: Black Rank: Genin (I); Jonin (II) Likes: Hamburger stakes, collecting puppets Dislikes: spinach, children Kankurou is initially characterized by his apparent dislike for children, as seen when he is noticeably irritated while in the presence of someone younger than him. Though, this seems to have gone away as time passed by. This is most evident when he is with Gaara, who Kankurou is forced to put up with due to the fear his younger brother imposes on him. Despite their apparent differences, Gaara and Kankurou become very close over the timeskip as Gaara begins to confide in Kankurou and shares his dreams of wanting to risk his life to protect Sunagakure. As such, Kankurou has become very protective of Gaara, willing to challenge anyone who puts Gaara down in his presence. When Gaara is captured by Akatsuki, Kankurou rushes to his brother's aid in an attempt to save him and even after being nearly killed as a result he does not falter in his resolve to find Gaara. Kankurou has shown to be a rather violent and brutal opponent, often leaving his opponents in extreme pain after battle. He is a talented puppeteer, and with each of his appearances in the major arcs is seen with a new puppet in his arsenal. The three puppets that have been introduced were all originally created by Sasori, and came into Kankurou's possession some time after the former left Sunagakure. Karasu, the first of Kankurou's puppets to make an appearance, has been heavily modified by Kankurou. Because of this it is highly offensive, having numerous concealed weapons and being able to detach any of its limbs for separate attacks. Kuroari, the second of Kankurou's puppets to make an appearance, is used to capture opponents for assassination purposes. Once an opponent is captured within it each of Kuroari's arms convert to saw-blades and slice through the confined opponent. Sanshouo, the third of Kankurou's puppets to make an appearance, is not seen in action in the manga. In the anime, Sanshouo is shown to have a hollow body that Kankurou can take cover in to defend against attacks. These puppets seem to be designed to work together to some degree, as Kankurou frequently uses them in tandem to increase their effectiveness. Karasu, for example, can blanket an area in smoke while Kuroari fires weapons at the blinded opponent.
Shadow is an artificial created life form in the design of a male, anthropomorphic hedgehog. He resembles Sonic in many ways, such as how his hover skates propel him at extreme speeds to rival those of Sonic; but he distinguishes himself with greater use of his signature ability to use Chaos Control with Chaos Emeralds. He is Sonic's rival and is the anti thesis of Sonic himself in all aspects of Shadow's life. The rings attached to his wrists suppress his power. Shadow vowed to keep his promise to Maria, a girl he befriended on the Space Colony Ark, to give humanity a chance to be happy. He once blamed humanity for Maria's death, but came to realize that Maria wanted the people on Earth to live happy lives.
