Najika Hiiragi is a noted perfumer for CRI Cosmetics, famous for being able to identify over 500 scents. As the series began, she is struggling to finish "The Day Series" (a series of scents modeled after the days of the week), trying to find the perfect scent for the final perfume, "Sunday". Secretly however, Najika is actually a field agent for CRI's Intelligence Bureau, an agency unknown to the public (and even to most of its own employees for the sake of their own protection). She is an expert markswoman with her preferred weapon; the Stechkin APS, an old Russian firearm with selective fire (auto and semi-auto) and a wooden holster that doubles as a shoulder stock. The twenty round magazine is loaded with non-lethal plastic bullets. Najika is also an expert helicopter pilot, and she has a custom-modified Mil Mi-35 Hind assault helicopter with remote control and advanced avionics. Najica's first mission in the narrative is to recover a Humaritt (Humanoid Android) codenamed "ZZZ" and referred to as "Lila" (who was to be used as the sex toy of a bi-sexual countess), Najika becomes suspicious when CRI Intelligence is contracted by Shinba Industrial to recover more lost and possibly rogue Humaritts; especially since most of them are in the hands of criminals, revolutionaries, guerillas or terrorist groups. Her suspicions increase when Lila is assigned to be her partner, even though Najika insists she be allowed to continue working alone. As time goes on however, Najika begins to trust Lila, even if Lila's lack of social graces make her wince. Namura, affectionately known as "Na-chan" by his students, is a former Toryo student who returned to his alma mater as tennis coach and English teacher. He develops feelings for the student Meiko Akizuki, which are reciprocated. However, because she is a student they must keep their relationship secret. The relationship is eventually discovered, embroiling Namura in a big scandal. Finding his position at Toryo untenable and fearing he'll be a hindrance for Meiko, he resigns and returns to his hometown of Hiroshima in order to study real estate and take over the family business. Namura tries to push Meiko away from him no matter how much he loves her, thinking that he cannot allow her future to be tainted. Ultimately, Meiko proves him wrong, and they reach an agreement: as soon as Meiko graduates and turns 17 (the age at which she can marry Namura without her parents' approval), she will come with him to Hiroshima not only marry him, but also to study literature and become a writer. At the end of the series, the agreement is filled and they marry.
Yuzuru is Takaya's best friend, soft-spoken and with a friendly disposition, whom usually loner Takaya truly cares for. He becomes another key figure throughout the whole series with many mysteries. He seems endowed with mysterious sacred Buddhist blessings and miracles, which can destroy the whole Six Worlds, but has no knowledge of them himself, and his past soul/identity in the Sengoku Period would seem to be one of great importance. In the beginning, he's targeted as a surrogate body in which powerful warlords like Shingen and Nobunaga are to be revived. Yuzuru tends to involve himself in psychic wars because of Takaya, and his caring nature towards other people in distress.
