It is later revealed that the dog is really Kimihiro Watanuki, the protagonist of xxxHolic, who has taken over the form of a dog temporarily so that he could grant Saya's wish, though it is not initally revealed what the wish is, or who made the wish.

Shizuku is member number 8 in the Genei Ryodan. She has been described as being a natural airhead, seeing as how some of her actions do not point towards her being very bright. Shizuku is quite forgetful. Once she forgets something, she won't remember it. Her opponents are often fooled by her unassuming and blurred appearance —but this has often proved to be fatal for them once she enters in combat. Shizuku is also left handed. Nen Ability - Deme-chan (Blinky): Shizuku uses her nen to create a self-styled "living" vacuum cleaner she names "Deme-chan" that is able to consume any inanimate matter under her command. This has proven very useful in many occasions for cleaning up evidence that the members leave behind, especially blood and dead corpses. She also uses the razor sharp teeth on the "mouth" as a weapon when in combat. Anything sucked up into her vacuum cleaner cannot be retrieved, except for the last material that was sucked in.

The main character of the story. Pam is a kindhearted, somewhat clumsy girl who is not that good at learning, but prides herself on her homework and cooking. Pam is trying her best to become a full-fledged devil with the sole goal of returning to the human world. She has considerable trouble with adapting to the Spirit World and the Pandemonium at first, and seems to be becoming quite fond of the fierce angel Linfa. Since arriving in the Spirit World, Pam has contracted the ferocious storm genie En Zu as her familiar, an arrangement not devoid of conflict. The most prominent female instructor at the devil academy. She is very motherly and takes good care of her students, including Pam. She is known for her rather curvaceous and voluptuous figure, though she is rather rough in her manners. She enjoys drinking alcohol and apparently has some past history with Aregna. Although she usually acts annoyed at his behaviour and calls him names, there have been more than a few hints that she harbors some romantic interest in him. In the past she was an angel.
