Ren is a new student at the high school Miaka and Yui attend. He is a freshman and the same age as them, and is extremely popular at school. He runs for school president against Yui, and becomes the leader of a group of students who threaten Miaka and Taka. Ren has the ability to control people's minds, detesting and taking advantage of weak people who allow him to manipulate them. He dislikes and is jealous of the miracle that allowed Miaka and Taka to be together. Birthday: December 1st Karin is a very happy and lively kind of girl. She owns her own school club were her and the club members go out and search for mysterious things, such as aliens. She tries to get Takaki to join her club, but he declines. Soon after, they have a little accident were Takaki falls on top of Karin. Karin then makes him join her club after she semi-threatens him.
The nurse who take care of Haruka when she in the hospital. She's a good person and realize the gap between Haruka and Takayuki. She once supported Takayuki when they coincidentally met at the street.
Although being friends with Takayuki, Haruka and Mitsuki in high school, he drifts off from the group after graduation. However, he becomes an important character towards the end of the series. When Sasahara assumes the title of Genshiken president from Madarame, his first decision is to push the club's initiative, and establish their own booth at Comic-Fest. While Sasahara is pretty much the "normal" otaku, his unwavering loyalty to a single character (Kujibiki Unbalance character Ritsuko Kübel Kettenkrad aka "The Chairman") makes him stand out from the others. Even the dÅ�jinshi created by Genshiken under his leadership is a Ritsuko-themed one. Sasahara gives up being president during his senior year in order to focus on studying and finding a job, and passes the title on to Ohno. While Sasahara starts off as a quiet, reserved member of Genshiken, he transforms into a somewhat stronger-willed individual, especially during his presidency. While not completely confident in himself, he is able to find a job as a manga editor and even fight back his own doubts in order to confess his feelings for Ogiue. As of the end of the manga, Sasahara is still dating Ogiue, and accepts the fact that she is using him as a direct model for doujinshi. Manaka is the class representative. She is shy and has trouble saying "no" to others. She is helpful and is very reserved. Thanks to Takaki, she finally says how she feels about a certain matter. She does not back down and everyone applauses her. Her best friend is Yuma Tonomi
Yuma is an athletic girl and is out-going. She pretends to be always in conflict with Takaki and that he's always trying to beat her in everything. She thinks he is her rival. Takaki never bothers to ask her why she acts this way until the last episode. She blushes and stutters, giving the audience the impression that she may have feelings for him. Her best friend is Manaka Komaki.
