One of the HachiyÅ�, he is the SeiryÅ« of Heaven and is also a samurai in the service of the Imperial court. Being a descendant of a proud samurai line Yorihisa has been trained with a sword for as long as he can remember, because of this he is acknowledged to be a fearsome opponent. Yorihisa was raised by his older brother Sanehisa; until his Sanehisa’s untimely death during a mission to protect a young lord; Yorihisa blames himself dearly for his brother's death due to ultimately being saved by Sanehisa in exchange of his own life. Because of this guilt, he takes protecting everyone within the group very seriously, even to the extent of being willing to pass off his own life for them, this is especially true with Akane for whom he holds a strong sense of duty towards protecting. While in the anime, Akane is infatuated with Akuram, in the manga she falls in love with Yorihisa and he ends up returning with her to her world.

She usually remains quiet but will give useful advice when called upon. She acts and is seen as a mother to the younger angels. Mika uses "mother" as an insult towards her. Her hairstyle represents a fish's fins. While Goro was on vacation the air circulation pump stopped and Ran was unable to get enough oxygen and so she drowned, because of this she is afraid of water, gaining Hydrophobia; a fear of water. Her name means orchid. Throughout the anime, she gains the most screen time and is used in advertising the show more than the other angels. In fact, the series opens with her death as a goldfish and not the other angels' deaths as pets. She also is romantically in love with Goro. Also, throughout the anime it's noticed that in cases involving Goro's heart, she often gets very sensitive. Tsubasa also notes and comments upon the fact that Ran's feelings surpass her own, and vows to bring Ran and Goro together. Ran is one of the first 3 angels that appeared in the series. Her hairstyle and pigtail holders represent a frog's skin and eyes. Lulu died of being too cold, so she is afraid of cold stuff, gaining Cryophobia; a fear of ice or cold temperature, and Frigophobia; a fear of cold objects. Her spoiled behavior has earned her the ire of Gou and Gai whenever she does something that contradicts their activities (in Gou's case, she insisted Gor� read her a story when he hadn't eaten breakfast and in Gai's, she changed the channel while he was watching an anime), to which she replies that she only obeys Gor� which causes them to break into fits which prompts at least Shin to restrain them. Franz is a member of the 104th Trainees Squad. Franz first appears Ch.3 in walking through Trost District with Eren and Hannah. Eren refers to Hannah and Franz as a couple, which they both embarrassedly deny. At some point following the breach of the Wall by the Colossal Titan, Franz is attacked by a Titan. He is bitten in half and dies. Armin finds Hannah futilely attempting CPR on what remains of Franz's corpse. He tells her it's useless, and advises her to retreat to the Wall before it's too late. Hannah is a member of the 104th Trainees Squad. Hannah first appears in Ch. 3 walking through Trost District with Eren and Franz. Eren refers to Hannah and Franz as a couple, which they both embarrassedly deny. In the 5th chapter, Armin finds Hannah in the street attempting to administer CPR to the corpse of Franz. Her efforts to resuscitate him are futile, as he has been bitten in half. Armin advises her to give up and retreat back to Wall Rose; then, unable to bear the carnage any longer, flees. As she has not appeared since, it is unknown whether or not she took his advice and survived or remained and perished.
