She teaches Chi-Chi how to be a good wife for Goku by making her clean her whole house and backyard, and she also tells Goku and Chi-Chi the mysterious legend of Mount Frappe. Biography Grandma Hakkake finds the Bansho Fan by chance on the beach near her house and, without knowing what it was, uses it as a dustpan. When Chi-Chi finds the fan in the forest while cleaning Grandma Hakkake's garden, the old lady gives her the fan so that she and Goku can put out the flames surrounding the Ox-King's castle. Grandma Hakkake also gives Chi-Chi a jar of honey from her beehives, an item that would be very helpful to block the hole at the bottom of the Furnace of Eight Divisions later on. Ruri and Hari are identical twin cat-demon underlings of Koryuu. They can transform into ordinary house-cats to hide from the world (during the day they must stay in their cat form, similar to the way Kohaku and Koryuu turn small), and will do anything he asks of them to get gifts (often sex) and/or souls. They deeply enjoy kisses from their master. They constantly get into bickering with each other on the subject of Tarou's affection, while Tarou himself tries to stay away from their mischievous spirits as much as he can, often flustered by the drastic measures they will sometimes take to "heighten his spirits," so to say.

A kangaroo mouse and a badger who are very close friends and are always seen together. They give off the resemblance of a rabbit and a raccoon, and seem to enjoy scratching new things with a 10 yen coin.
