Karui (カルイ) is a kunoichi of Kumogakure, and a member of Team Samui. The team was sent to Konoha by the Fourth Raikage to inform them that they would be taking care of Sasuke Uchiha and Akatsuki. She, along with the other two members of her team, are Killer Bee's students. Karui seems to have a somewhat comedic-negative relationship with her teammate, Omoi. During their debut, they argued over the possible reasons that they could have been called by the Raikage. She assumed that he wanted them to get him more protein shakes. However, the argument started with Omoi implying that she is flat-chested in comparison to their teammate, Samui. However, like the rest of her team, she highly respects Killer Bee. Karui is also quite outspoken and allows her emotions to let out, as she angrily yelled at Team Kakashi to allow the renegade Sasuke to run loose. She came to a violent point when she took out her rage on Naruto and beat him. In terms of fighting style, Karui relies mainly on swordplay, and thus would be considered a swordsmanship specialist. She and Omoi use attack combos together with swords, using slick, precise movements as they work well together. Karui has good strength, she punched Naruto hard enough to make him bleed instantly. While Kakashi was still in the ANBU, his codename was Tenzou. Kakashi sometimes still calls him Tenzou, although Yamato prefers his new codename. Like other ANBU members, Yamato projects a calm, stoic demeanor in stressful situations. Due to Yamato containing cells from the First Hokage Hashirama Senju, Kabuto used to him upgrade the army of White Zetsu being used in the war. Little is known of his predicament after that. In chapter 700+7, Yamato is shown to be alive and healthy, still working for the Hidden Leaf Shinobi forces by keeping check on Orochimaru.

Omoi is a shinobi of Kumogakure, and a member of Team Samui. He is Killer Bee's student along with the other two members of his team. Omoi is dark skinned with spiky white hair like most Kumo nin. He is always seen sucking on a lolipop. As a sword user he carries his sword on his back with the one strapped Kumo Flack Jacket. He is a very careful ninja, and likes to think things through before acting. He is more level-headed than his teammate Karui, but has a habit of exaggerating the end result of minor things (like when Karui threw a rock at him and he believed it would cause an avalanche and destroy Konoha). He also has respect for people who stand by their word, even if they are the enemy. He is a very intelligent ninja. He has amazing speed, and is able to move around the battlefield in the blink of an eye. His taijutsu skill is good, being able to move around fluidly with his teammates. He also uses swordplay in his fighting style, like most Kumogakure shinobi. His name is a pun on two words which have the pronunciation "Omoi": ��, which means "heavy", contrasting with Karui, which means "light". ��, which means "thought", alluding to his thoughtful manner. She serves as The Fifth Hokage's attendant as well as her long time companion. She was Tsunade's apprentice, becoming a talented medical-nin under her tutelage. She was also appointed the captain of the Allied Shinobi Forces' Logistical Support and Medical Division. Shizune is the niece of Dan, the late lover of Tsunade. Some time after Dan died, Tsunade left Konoha, and Shizune went with her as her attendant and apprentice. The bond between Tsunade and Shizune is strong and, above all, Shizune sees her purpose in life as caring for Tsunade. Unlike Tsunade, she is level-headed, practical, and a rational thinker. As a result, she is the one who tends to stress over details, such as Tsunade's tendency to gamble and to think with her heart. She often gets comically worked up over any irrational decision Tsunade makes. Shizune also looks after Tonton, Tsunade's pet pig. She's not the type to tire easily and is very energetic and efficient while acting in her capacity of Hokage's Assistant, often urging Tsunade to finish the paperwork in order to avoid mountains of unsigned documents later on. After spending more time with his team Sai comes to appreciate bonds, particularly the bond that exists between Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha. Wanting to experience bonds for himself, Sai sets out to make as many bonds as he can. Likewise, by creating an Ink Clone (墨分身, Sumi Bunshin?) of himself, he can perform a reconnaissance of an area without actually endangering himself. Sai can also transform words he writes on his scroll into small animals that seek out their target and revert back to words upon arriving, giving Sai an easy way to communicate.
