Ebisu is an elite Jounin tutor; he also serves as the personal tutor to the Third Hokage's grandson Konohamaru. Like many in the village Ebisu saw Naruto as the Kyuubi himself. Over time though Naruto's hard work impressed Ebisu and he acknowledged that Naruto could be a good role model for Konohamaru.

Ebisu is a young, androgynous and sullen looking woman who first appears in chapter three, donning a skull shaped mask. She is walking through the Hole, unable to summon a door back to the Magic Users' world due to the barrier between worlds currently in effect. She runs in to Caiman and Nikaido, who advance on her in their common fashion. Caiman cuts off Ebisu's fingers to prevent her from using magic, and bites down on her head after removing her mask. Before he can withdraw to ask her his "question", a frantic Fujita appears from a door behind her and forcefully pulls her out of his clamped down jaws, in to the door. This sudden and jerky movement causes trauma to her face and head, but they both get to safety. After this incident, Ebisu is shown to be haunted by nightmares—and has become somewhat insane. At En's residence, she is restrained until Noi can properly heal and restore her fingers and face. Past that point, it is evident her head trauma caused some (supposedly temporary,) brain damage as seen in her suddenly eccentric behavior. She is commonly seen with Fujita in the manga panels, possibly leading to believe that they are "partners" now. Her smoke is not seen directly, but records state she is skilled in Reptile transformation. However between panels it shows her having attacked someone with a surplus of power after being fed Black Powder by someone who appeared to have met her before.

Eibisu is the local god of the land and serves as the patron of merchants. His intentions are often misinterpreted because of his actions. He runs a convenience store close to his shrine where he has two stone imperial guardian lions, named K�ga and Eiga, which he can bring to life. He is a real god unlike a y�kai like Kūgen Tenko, so he is able to overpower Kūgen without trying too much especially by the use of kotodama since he is the most powerful in his territory. He usually seems very jovial and friendly but is extremely sharp and sly and sometimes might be harsh. He keeps note of any new y�kai that enter his domain. First appearance in episode 2.

a 1st year at Aoba 3rd High School. He lives at Aoba 3rd dormitory in room 204. He is Motoyama Miyu's boyfriend.

In the beginning of this manga, Ebisu was working at the main branch of the corporation that both she and Hotei were working under. However, due to obligations to her niece who, due to her sister's immaturity, cannot be taken in by anyone else and so Ebisu moves to a smaller branch to compensate. Ebisu is distant, talented and young, making her the butt of all jokes and hated among her co-workers. Eventually through kindess on both sides, Ebisu and Hotei start a relationship and move to Tokyo to care for all the girls' needs.

As a child, Ebisu was alone. Without any parents, he was shuffled from orphanage to orphanage and picked on by other children. Eventually, he became fed up and ran away. He took to stealing, breaking and entering, shoplifting, purse-snatching, and etc. to survive. He also abused his skills as a spiritual medium to summon ghosts to assist him in his crimes. One day, his luck ran out. Magic law practitioners had been waiting where he sent the ghost, and the ghost took revenge by draining Ebisu's tempering to almost nothing. He lay in a gutter for two days, drifting in and out of consciousness, when Goryo came and rescued him with a tempering injection, saying, "If you're going to throw your life away, why not use it for me?" Ebisu awoke several days later at the Goryo residence, and became Goryo's assistant. While Goryo treats Ebisu horribly, with less respect than one would warrant even an animal, Ebisu doesn't seem to mind terribly. He has a deep-seated need to feel valued and needed, and as Goryo's assistant can do his best to garner Goryo's appreciation. Even after Goryo fires him for failing to execute a difficult maneuver, Ebisu knows it was for the good of the group--he'll do whatever it takes to please his master, even if it means removing himself from the picture. To anyone other than Goryo, however, Ebisu is callous, lewd, and crass. He's incredibly condescending and seems to go out of his way to show off his status and offend people. He's not averse to getting his hands dirty to accomplish a job, even planning to drain an innocent's tempering to further his goals. Ebisu was severely injured in his attempts to rescue Goryo from Tomas, but remains unshakably loyal. He becomes Goryo's assistant once again after the ordeal is over.
