The main protagonist of the anime. He is the son of the warrior 'Grande'. He dresses up like a monster because humans are considered enemies to other races. He likes doing random training and is mainly seen carrying a heavy stone behind him. He is known for his never give-up spirit and always-trying attitude and is quite stubborn at times. He is very determined and will do what's best for his family and friends. His main weapon of choice seems to be the wooden sword that he carries on his back.

As the son of the weapons merchant Junk, 15 year old Pop left his home in Rankaksu and decided to become an apprentice of Avan, training to become a magician. He is a specialist on fire spells, mainly those of the Mera (fire spells) type (Mera, Merami and Merazoma) but, as the story progresses, he learns more powerful spells such as Betan (which is a gravity pressure attack) and Medoroa (one of the most powerful spells available.) Pop begins as a coward who runs away from fights, but he later grows as a powerful character throughout the story and gains true courage. Pop falls in love with Maam as the story develops.

Marco is the son of a merchant from the Venetian Republic. When his father, Niccolo, and his uncle come back from their journey to Asia and their meeting with Kublai Khan, they decide to take Marco with them on their next journey. Marco starts his journey to Asia with his father and uncle, facing many hardship and learning to be a strong person and a good merchant.
