When he was very young, he did not have parents, and because he was small and easily frightened, he was unable to talk to the people around him and was bullied. He had no friends, and treated an abandoned puppy as his only friend. Perhaps because of his environment, he began to wish that he could learn what people felt without using words. He is known to be very mature for his age, yet has a cheeky personality. His quarrels with Momo are endless. On August 15, he becomes involved in a certain incident with Hiyori. Regarding eye abilities. He is the only one saved by Konoha, and is possessed by the Focusing Eyes snake under these circumstances. It has the power to perceive objects and details that are far away from an aerial view. After escaping the time loop and joining the Mekakushi Dan, Hibiya fell into a deep depression over the loss of his love, Hiyori. A young man who belongs to Mekakushi Dan. Has an unfocused, aloof personality, and always has a smile on his face. Because he teases Mary and Momo a lot, he's often considered to be a flirt and careless, but when it counts, he's worth relying on. He possesses the power to "deceive one's eyes," to be able to manipulate what people around him see and show them something different. Regarding eye abilities. As a child he did not go to kindergarten, but spent his youth in an apartment block with his mother. His mother appears to have been emotionally unstable and beat Kano nearly every day, and the neighbors were worried that he was being abused. But because Kano was convinced that it was his own fault for making his mother angry, he began to wish that he could erase the injuries on his own body that made the neighbors think badly of his mother. Incidentally, according to notes in the third novel, he always wore long sleeves and long pants to try to hide his injuries at the time. One day, a burglar forced his way into the house looking for money, and Kano's mother was stabbed to death by the burglar while trying to protect her son. Kano was also killed at the time. He seems to be constantly bothered by Ene. First appeared in Jinzou Enemy. A hikikomori (recluse/shut-in) young man with an IQ of 168. In middle school and high school, before he was a hikikomori, he performed at the top of his class in National Mock Examinations. He is no longer in school. After dropping out, a mysterious software enters into his computer named "Ene," and, being unable to control her actions, his lifestyle is at a loss. Due to one of Ene's pranks, his computer breaks down, so both Ene and him go to the department store for shopping where they happen upon a group of terrorists. They end up stopping them together with the Mekakushi Dan. After this, he and Ene come to join the Mekakushi Dan. Relationship with Ayano. Ayano sat behind him in class. He once saw her crying in the classroom while no one was there to watch, and realized that this was probably her true self, but he didn't call out to her. Later, Ayano committed suicide and he blamed himself for it because he didn't call out to her even though she had helped him in so many subtle ways. Because of this, he believes he deserves to rot away and becomes a hikikomori. Regarding eye abilities. He did not have an eye power in the original timeline. Sometime later, he wished to remember the tragedy and Mary gave him the Retaining Eyes snake, allowing him to remember everything that has happened in every timeline that had passed so far. However, this power would not activate unless something triggered it. Timelines Coincidentally, the Retaining Eyes snake would play a large role in guiding the group to the true ending. During the true timeline, the Retaining Eyes snake took the form of Ayano and tried to trigger its power. Because of her power she was often alienated from people and had no friends, but since her meeting with the Mekakushi Dan, she regains her original, bright character. She has peculiar sense in taste and fashion, and as such, it is common for her opinions to disagree with other people's. She is also the younger sister of Shintaro. Regarding eye abilities. During a school trip to the sea during August 15, she and her father were swept away by a wave and drowned. She entered the Heat Haze and was possessed by the Captivating Eyes snake. First appeared in Konoha's State of the World. A young man with amnesia. He is currently living at Hiyori's sister's house as a foster child. Not knowing about the normal world, he's rather my-pace (air-headed, lost). In his spare time, he plays baseball with the neighborhood children. He is known to possess a strong curiosity for the unknown. His favorite animal is the triceratops. Regarding eye abilities. He was once a human called Haruka Kokonose but was turned into a cyber-being as he received his eye power. As a human, he was a classmate with Takane Enomoto. He was also known to have a serious illness or disease that made him weak physically and often sickly. He died because of this and entered the Heat Haze, where he was possessed by the Awakening Eyes snake. He wished to be able to have fun with his friends. His snake, taking the wish the wrong way, forcibly rips Haruka's body from his spirit/soul, and reincarnates Haruka as his game character from Dead Bullet, while his spirit/soul was left in the Heat Haze. The Snake of Clearing Eyes. During every timeline, Konoha is possessed by Snake of Clearing Eyes and changes appearance. This form has black hair and wears a black shirt instead of a white one. The black shirt that Konoha wears beneath the upper one remains black. His eyes appear yellow, as do the circles above the right cheek. He kills most, if not every member of the Mekakushi Dan at certain points. In Lost Time Memory, he is shown to be crying and attempting suicide by pointing a gun at his head, but is stopped by Shintaro. In the true ending, he is stopped by Shintaro and Ayano, who stopped Mary from resetting time and allowing the Heat Haze to swallow up the world. There, Kenjirou reunited with Ayaka, fulfilling his wish.
