As the last survivor of his clan, Knuckles lived most of his life in seclusion on Angel Island, an island floating in the air; and as such he is something of a loner. His inexperience with off-islanders leaves him very honest, and also gullible. Knuckles is shy around girls. Although he is cool and determined in battle; his short temper gives rise to situations in which Knuckles, often instigated by the trickery of Dr. Eggman, begins fighting Sonic the Hedgehog.In the anime Sonic X, when Amy asks Sonic why Knuckles wouldn't come with them, Sonic replies "That's Knuckles. He does things his own way." Although he and Sonic fight from time to time, there is an undercurrent of mutual understanding between the two. Ever since the introduction of Shadow the Hedgehog as one of Sonic's darker, more anti-heroic rivals, Knuckles' relationship with Sonic has seen as much more friendly by comparison, and they both rarely fight anymore. Additionally, Knuckles has been tasked all his life as being the Guardian of the Master Emerald, as only descendants of his tribe are capable of controlling it. If Sonic exemplifies the wind, then Knuckles is the mountain: stern and anchored to his duty. However he finds Sonic's adventurous lifestyle enviable. Various literature from the early games list his favorite food as being fruit, or to be more specific, grapes. He also is described as hating strong light; in Casino Park in Sonic Heroes, if you keep the characters still for long enough he'll say, "Everything is so twinkling and bright. I hate it!!" The Skull Knight is one of the most mysterious and prolific characters introduced in Berserk, a towering warrior dressed in full armor whose ornaments, especially his helmet, are shaped as parts of a human skeleton, hence his moniker, who rides a massive, ghostly black horse. Though ominous and macabre, he is an enemy of the Godhand and its acolytes, hunting down Apostles and devouring their Behelits; especially bitter is his rivalry with Zodd the Immortal, whom he was often showed to overwhelm with ease. He wields a powerful sword that, when stuck down his throat, becomes a terrible, Behelit-coated blade capable of slashing rifts through reality itself, thus allowing the Skull Knight to move freely around the world or even between different dimensions. This enigmatic knight saved Guts in more than one occasion, notably during the infamous Eclipse which saw Griffith become a member of the Hand of God or when Slan almost slaughtered him, though he never explained why, simply declaring that the Struggler (the way he calls Guts) has to keep following his fate. It is heavily speculated that, during his life as a mortal, the Skull Knight was in fact Gaiseric, the warlord that unified the Midland and became its first Emperor, notorious for his helmet whose shape was that of a human skull and whose ambitions 'prompted God to send four Angels' (most likely the four members of the Hand of God) to punish him. He was the wearer of the Berserker's Armor, and knew the witch Flora. During the duel between Griffith and Ganishka he suddenly appeared out of thin air through a dimensional rift, trying to land a fatal blow on the Hawk, only to see it diverted on the writhing body of the Kushan Emperor.
NASA-built Super-AI robot, model number XCR-13 ("XCR" standing for "Experimental Cosmo Robo"). Mic Sounders the 13th is a relatively small red and blue robot of extremely blocky construction, with a monitor for eyes that changes to express a wide range of emotions (for example, on occasion it has turned into an image of GaoGaiGar's face when Mic is feeling brave). He has no actual abilities or powers to speak of, short of riding around in an almost cartoonish yellow flying vehicle called Baribarien. Mic first appeared having escaped his containment unit, at which point he made his way to a radi-robo (radio-controlled robot) competition that Mamoru Amami was participating in. During most of his first appearances, Mic was solely a comic relief character, often attempting to fly into a dangerous situation to assist GaoGaiGar only to be knocked far away with a cry of "Ohhh noooooooooooooo!" Eventually Mic gained the ability to transform into his true form; that of a tall blue and red robot seemingly designed after a rock-and-roll singer. While in this form, Baribarien transforms into a mobile stage (named Studio 7, a homage to the producers of the series), which it does by simply flipping over while Mic transforms. While in this mode, Baribarien produces most of Mic's musical equipment, which consists of a flying V keytar known as Dazzling VV, a pair of Thundering V microphones and a Sparkling V roofie harmonica. Mic's combat abilities are entirely based on sound manipulation - the programs to do so are stored in the form of various Discs stored in his Studio 7. In addition to the general-purpose Disc M and Disc P, Mic has the dangerous Disc X and later the much more powerful Disc F. Mic sports a distinct accent in both of his forms. In his Cosmo Robo form, he adds "Demone!" to the endings of most of his sentences, whereas in Boom Robo form he has a tendency to shout phrases equivalent to "It's awesome!"

Silver and his friend, Blaze, live 200 years in a devastated future, their time period destroyed by an immortal creature called Iblis, the Flames of Disaster. Despairing over the fact that they have no way to truly defeat Iblis, Silver and Blaze encounter a mysterious being named Mephiles, who claims that he can stop the Flames of Disaster by destroying the "Iblis Trigger," a being who will unleash Iblis. Mephiles points out the Iblis Trigger to be none other than Sonic, and he sends Silver and Blaze to Sonic's time period. Upon reaching the past, Silver and Blaze are separated. While searching for Sonic, Silver meets Amy Rose, who is also looking for Sonic. Silver and Amy help each other in their search for Sonic, though they are both unaware they are seeking out the same person, as well as what they plan to do with him. Upon finding Sonic, Silver attacks him, only to be stopped by Amy. Seeing how much Amy cares for Sonic makes Silver question his motives but, upon reuniting with Blaze, strengthens his resolve. Infiltrating the base of Dr. Eggman, Silver recovers a Chaos Emerald and keeps it for himself. Silver encounters Sonic again, only to be stopped and attacked by Shadow. Shadow overpowers Silver with his use of Chaos Control, but Silver, in an attempt to strike back, takes out his Chaos Emerald and utilizes Chaos Control at the same time as Shadow, creating a rift in time and space. In order to find answers to their respective questions, Silver and Shadow enter the rift and find themselves ten years in the past when the failure of the Solaris Project (an event known in the present to have caused great devastation) occurred. They arrive during an explosion that injures or kills all within its radius and releases Mephiles and Iblis, revealed to be two separate forms of the god Solaris. Silver chases after Iblis, who is sealed away by the King of Soleanna into the body of his daughter, Princess Elise, with a Chaos Emerald. Before he succumbs to his injuries from the explosion, the King tells his unconscious daughter to never cry, as it would unleash Iblis. Silver then realizes that Mephiles has tricked him and that Elise is the "Iblis Trigger". Before returning to the present with Shadow, Silver gives his Chaos Emerald to Elise. Realizing that Sonic isn't the Iblis Trigger, Silver is informed by Blaze that Princess Elise has surrendered to Eggman and was taken away on his battleship. Silver and Blaze fear that Eggman plans to release Iblis. On his way to rescue Elise, Silver encounters Sonic and teams up with him. Before they can reach Eggman's battleship, it crashes and explodes due to a system malfunction. Silver and Sonic use Chaos Control to travel back to before when Eggman's ship launched. Sonic travels to the past alone to save Elise from her grim fate, but not before giving Silver a Chaos Emerald. Silver and Blaze return to their timeline in an effort to stop Iblis, now knowing they don't have to alter the past to save the future. Finally defeating Iblis, Silver attempts to seal the Flames of Disaster away into his soul, but he is rejected.
