Hiromi is a teenage girl from an all-girl school who meets Hideo in the 'Sea of Trees' at the base of Mount Fuji. As first, she mistakes him for someone contemplating suicide and comforts him, after which the two become close friends. She has a boyfriend who she simply acknowledges as Shinji, though she hasn't seen him since the outbreak. Later, she is infected by a zombie baby but still retains most of her personality. However, at times she starts to see the world as some sort of child-like vision, viewing people as off-putting stuffed animals. After being infected, her strength increases substantially. During their refuge at the Outlet Mall, Hiromi is shot in the head by a nail gun. Afterwards, Oda is able to use her knowledge as a nurse to remove the nail and Hiromi surprisingly makes a complete recovery, from both being shot and her infection. She loses all the superficial symptoms of her infection, such as protruding black veins and bloodshot eyes, but retains much of her superhuman strength.

Gender: Female Race: Human Eyes: Yellow Hair: Pink Weapon: Magic Education: Magic Guild Status: Active Konoe A. Mercury, more commonly known as Nine, was a witch and one of the Six Heroes. Nine is a person who likes to do things her own way, a trait shared by her daughter. She's a kind-hearted individual who cares about her friends, especially her younger sister Celica. However, she is not easy on Kazuma. Although she seems to have a mature and serious personality, she can be somewhat impulsive and violent when angered (as shown when she attempted to use a fire spell on Bloodedge for annoying her). She was this way even with Jubei before falling in love with him. Konoe was a witch who went by the name of Nine. She had long, pink hair and dresses like a stereotypical witch. The name "Nine" comes from her being the ninth member of the Magic Guild's Ten Sages. Celica A. Mercury is her sister, Shūichir Ayatsuki is her father, and her mother is deceased; she is the mother of Kokonoe. Nine's role in the story is further explained in the novel, BlazBlue: Phase 0, where she tells Ragna to beware of Terumi. She passed down her knowledge of magic to mankind during the Dark War. During the Dark War, she created the Nox Nyctores in order to help humans fight against the Black Beast. After the war, she discovered what Terumi's future plans were, and he killed her, giving Kokonoe a motivation to despise Terumi. She created the Nox Nyctores using human transmutation, a process that requires thousands of human souls. Due to similarities in their appearance and abilities, Phantom may have some connection to Nine in the third game it's confirmed that she is Nine. It is notable that in Lambda's arcade mode, Hazama tells Kokonoe that the magical power he used to create Mu belongs to Nine. In the Extra Story, "That Which Is Inherited", it is revealed that the process through which the Nox Nyctores were created involved the compressing of seithr into a solid unit, then implanting the unit with the soul of a Black Beast. This compression spell, known as "Infinite Gravity", was used by Nine to create the Nox Nyctores and defeat the Beast, and later by Kokonoe to implant a Black Beast's soul into Ignis.
Celica is a young woman with long, brown hair tied into a ponytail with a red ribbon, and bright red eyes. She is a kind, generous, and sociable person who deeply loves her sister and friends. She is a sentimental individual who maintains a firm stance that all life is precious and will use her healing magic to assist those in need of it, regardless of who or what they are. She is also shown to be selfless to the point that she will shield a person with her own body without any hesitation. She develops affection toward Bloodedge as time goes by and seems to idolize him. She had difficulty interacting with Kazuma Kuvaru due to the uneasy feelings his presence evoked within her. It has also been noted by people (particularly Bloodedge) that she has no sense of direction, which usually ends with her getting lost. Celica A. Mercury was Nine's younger sister, Jubei's sister-in-law, and Kokonoe's aunt. She had brown hair in her youth, and was naturally gifted in the use of healing magic. She was stubborn and unable to ignore those who are in need. She briefly traveled with Bloodedge during the Dark War, whilst trying to find information about her father, Shūichir Ayatsuki. After the Dark War, she watched over the Black Beast's remains and built a church, waiting for a chance to reunite with Bloodedge. She later was the foster parent of Ragna, Jin and Saya, and was killed by Yūki Terumi in 2192 In Chronophantasma, Celica is brought back from the past by Kokonoe to activate the Lynchpin located within Bang's Nox Nyctores, Phoenix: Rettenj, which is now in Relius Clover's possession.
