He is a self-proclaimed feminist, which he claims is the reason for his gentle treatment of women and children. Matako instead believes that he has a Lolita complex (and as such is a 'lolicon'). Takechi once commented that Kagura would be in her prime in a few years. He prevented Matako from killing Kagura, citing that her fighting ability would be incredible in a few years. He is heavily wounded by a crazed Okada, his fate after which is unknown. His name is based on the Meiji restoration era samurai, Takechi Hanpeita.

Happy is a cat with some magical power, which may be the reason for his ability to speak. He can temporarily grow wings on his back and fly, and is capable of carrying only one person in this form. Happy apparently can fly at incredible speed as it took Eligor less than an hour to reach Clover when Happy caught up with him in mere seconds with Natsu in tow). This is also the only kind of transportation that does not make Natsu sick. When asked why, Natsu got angry and exclaimed that Happy was a friend, not a means of transportation, ironically Natsu later gets sick when Gray gives him a piggyback ride when he's injured. He's very close to Natsu and becomes friends with Lucy quickly. The three form a team at the start of the manga. Happy is a full-fledged member of Fairy Tail, and has a member stamp on his back. It's also unknown if Happy even though being a mage and a member of Fairy Tail, can use his magic offensively or not. Happy has a very cheerful nature. Even when facing danger, he maintains a smile. Along with Lucy, he is one of the saner members of Fairy Tail and often acts as the mediator between Natsu and Gray. Happy's original name was going to be named Freyr, after a Norse god. But Hiro Mashima felt it didn't fit him, so he changed the name to Happy to fit the character. Happy is actually a magical creature that comes from Edolas. These creatures are called Exceed, and are sent to Earthland to kill the Dragon Slayers. When their mission was changed to "kidnap the Dragon Slayers", Happy's memory got erased. Later it was revealed that this was not the case but that they were sent there to try to save their lives from a future foreseen by the queen of the Exceed. The "mission" was a misunderstanding by Charle who has the same ability as the queen and did not understand what her visions meant.

He is frequently partnered with fellow Fairy Tail members Happy, Lucy Heartfilia, Gray Fullbuster, and Erza Scarlet. He is commonly known to the public as a powerful mage called "The Salamander." But this title has started to fade as the series progresses. Natsu's most prominent features are his spiky rosy-colored hair and his signature scaly white scarf which was given to him by Igneel. Natsu has a scar on the right side of his neck. He got the scar when he was a kid, after having a match with Gray. His future self got mad at him and started slapping his smaller self to wake him up. Igneel, a dragon, found him in the forest and ended up taking care of him. He taught Natsu how to speak, and use magic. But one day Igneel disappeared on July 7, X777; Igneel left Natsu to fend for himself without so much as a goodbye or an explanation for his reasons for doing so. Out of all the children gathered, B was the only person able to successfully perform the Double Lariat with A. As such he was given the name "B", and A stated they would be brothers from that day on. After A's cousin, the jinchuuriki of Gyūki lost control and killed Motoi's father along with seven other ninja on that day, B was chosen as its next Jinchuuriki at the age of 5. During the 3rd Great Shinobi World War, he and his brother encounter Minato Namikaze and had a small scuffle with Minato and his squad. Killer Bee is a muscle-bound shinobi from Kumogakure and the Jinchuuriki of the Eight-Tailed Beast. It is hinted he comes from the Yotsuki clan. He appears to dislike light. On his right shoulder, he has a tattoo that says "iron" (鉄, tetsu); and on his left cheek, he has a tattoo of a bull's horn (correspondingly, the Eight-Tails has horns like a bull, and the left one is missing). He also carries seven swords and has a brother who is the Raikage. It seems that he demands respect from others and asks to be called "Lord Jinchuuriki" (人柱力様, Jinchuuriki-sama) and his Tailed Beast be called "Lord Eight-Tails" (八尾様, Hachibi-sama). He also appears willing to speak in song, more specifically in rap style, even when confronted with potential threats. He will even stop in a middle of a fight to write whatever rhymes come to him. He has a casual relationship with the Eight-tailed Beast, frequently engaging in friendly conversation with it. As a Jinchuuriki, Killer B has a massive chakra pool enough to make Samehada get very excited and betray Kisame, who is known for his massive amounts of chakra. Killer B is one of the few people to have achieved full control over a tailed beast and is known as a Perfect Jinchūriki because of this feat along with Yagura, the Fourth Mizukage and Naruto Uzumaki. B is the only known, as well as living Jinchuuriki who can at will, transform and remain in his full tailed beast form indefinitely. The current Raikage is the older brother of the Jinchūriki of the Eight-Tailed Beast, Killer Bee. It is hinted that Killer Bee, and therefore the Raikage as well, comes from the Yotsuki clan. Knowing Yugito Nii's and Killer Bee's immense powers if they were to ever transform into their full power forms, he forbade them from doing so. After learning that Killer Bee is captured by Akatsuki, the Raikage demands a meeting of the five Kage and resolves to eliminate Sasuke, Killer Bee's captor. He is very caring and protective towards his brother, despite Killer Bee's status as a Jinchūriki, and cried at the idea of his younger brother being captured by Akatsuki. He is very physically strong, as he appears lifting a large amount of weight with just one hand and broke his desk with a single punch.
