The title character of the story, Zwei was a perfectly ordinary tourist from Japan, before witnessing an Inferno assassination in America and being kidnapped. He was able to elude his pursuers long enough for them to realize he had a natural survival instinct that was perfect for an assassin. He had his memory erased through a combination of drug and hypnotherapy. The name Zwei is simply a code name to show he is the second experimental assassin created by Scythe Master. Through Claudia, one of the three top executives of Inferno, Zwei is able to learn his true identity as Azuma Reiji. At the end, when Reiji and Eren finally set out to find her past and end up in Mongolia in a field of Oxytropis flowers, an unidentified assassin kills Reiji with a silenced gun, and he collapses silently to the ground. Ein then appears to commit suicide by eating a leaf of the poisonous flower. Kathy Po is the daughter of Sally Po and a member of the Preventers. She is a central character of the novel New Mobile Report Gundam Wing: Frozen Teardrop and the first few chapters of novel are told primarily from her point of view as she views the past histories of After Colony and Mars Century.
A man with a great sense of pride, which often brings him into conflicts with Aoi. His strict manners and a conservative personality are reflective of his descent from a samurai family. Kazura is a teleporter, but tends to be reluctant to use his powers unless necessary because he believes that using his power gives him an unfair advantage against his opponents. His ability has limitations; Kazura is unable to freely teleport wherever he wants if he cannot properly envision his destination. While Kazura aspires to enter the Imperial Japanese Army in which he gains a lot of recognition, he is pulled out from the military and is forced to join the Sakurai Kikan because of his teleporting ability. Kazura is fluent in Chinese, German, and English and is skilled in Dait�-ryū Aiki-jūjutsu.
Aoi has a telekinetic ability, which allows him to manipulate the speed of objects around him. While it proves to be useful for situations such as dodging bullets, it appears to have a time limit on the duration of use. To hide his identity as a spy, Aoi runs a photo studio together with Kazura. He has a lively, positive spirit, and a great sense of justice, but tends to act rashly in certain situations. He is proficient in Chinese, Russian, German and English and used to live in Europe for quite some time.
