Age: 24 Height: 185cm Hair: Black (white originally) Eyes: Light Gray Blood Type: O Constellation: Gemini Occupation: Head of the Black Knights Vaith is the Captain of the Black Knights and one of Sylthfarn's closest friends. Though he can have his serious moments, Vaith tends to be lighthearted and playful. When he first saw Mel, he mistook her for Sylthfarn. Realizing the uncanny resemblance between the girl and the Master Wizard, he kidnapped Mel, hoping she would help with the impersonation. Originally his hair was white, but following a disastrous mission during the war, where all his comrades where killed, he began to dye it black.
Lia is a good friend of Mel's from school. She's strong willed and analytical, but she has a tenancy to romanticize things. After graduating, she's planning on joining the border patrol, to be closer to her family.
Shato is an orphaned boy who, who mistook Mel for the Master Wizard. With both of his parents dead, he was living with a kind women who had taken him and several other orphaned children into her home. When she became ill, he tried to get Mel to help her, but there was nothing Mel could do. She eventually passed away, leaving Shato and the other children homeless. Mel later meets up with Shato and learns that both he and the other children are doing well. Shato has become an apprentice and has been keeping tract of the other children he'd been living with.
Lecto attends the same school as Mel. He's extremely dedicated to his academics and is the Class President of Mel's year. He's initially unhappy with Mel, as he feels she brings the entire year down. One day, however, he discovers Mel sneaking onto the castle grounds and decides to follow her. When he realizes that Mel knows Yue, his hero, his opinion of her eventually changes. He later goes on to work under his idol, Yue.
Age: 21 Height: 170cm Hair: White Eyes: Red Blood Type: AB Constellation: Gemini Occupation: Mage Ardi is a powerful and sadistic mage from Vilatia. In an effort to take over Viegald, he uses his magic to get Glenn, Vaith, and Yue all incarcerated. While attempting to kill Seraphia, Mel manages to knock him off a ledge and save Seraphia. Yue then manages to kill him after an exhausting battle.
Yuino is a close friend of Mel's from school. She's often seen hanging out with Mel, Louie, and Lia. Yuino has a sister ten years older than her, who also became a wizard.
Age: 12 Height: 142cm Hair: Red Eyes: Green Blood Type: B Constellation: Aquarius Occupation: Body double Fern is part of a race of creatures that has a high resistance to magic, called the Hahze (or Onburu). Not entirely human in appearance, Fern had very few friends growing up. He eventually became assigned to Sylthfarn as a body double (if someone used a harmful spell on Sylthfarn, it would transfer to Fern). Sylthfarn eventually convinced Fern they should be friends, and Fern was deeply hurt when Sylthfarn disappeared with word. Fern tends to be brash, rude, and sarcastic to those he doesn't know, but he is extremely loyal the people he cares about.
