A bishop from the Barsburg Church, he convinces Teito to take the examination to enter the priesthood. The training he puts Teito through is vigorous and often involves his 'dolls', life-sized puppets he controls with Zaiphon. One of the 07-Ghosts, he is Fest. After Teito discovers that Castor and Frau are both one of the Seven Ghosts, Castor decides to wipe away Teito's memories of the incident, because their identities must remain a secret. Frau, however, stops him, telling him that if he takes away Teito's memories of when Frau revealed himself as Zehel, Teito will not remember Mikage's last smile (Frau transformed to save him when Mikage was possessed by Ayanami). His birthday is the 24th of December. Castor's original name was Xinglu Hausen, a descendant of the 6th District's God House. The jobs of the Hausen House was to train assassins to deal with dissenters to the Empire. He grew up with a father who treated him strictly, and his mother was the only person who spoiled him. His mother's love influenced him to create dolls in her image, claiming that he would make a mother just for him because his real mother belonged to his father. On one assassination mission, he heard beautiful singing coming from a noel mermaid locked in a cage. Just as the mermaid, Razette, became attached to Xinglu, Xinglu was taken aback by the beauty of her singing voice and rescued her. And she, in turn, opened his heart through her song and taught him how to smile. This changed his influences in doll crafting--he now created Razette dolls instead of mother dolls. Xinglu even considered traveling the world as a puppetmaster, with Razette singing the songs to his shows. But after the Raggs war, because the Hausen House supported of the Raggs Kingdom, they were ordered to hand over Xinglu's head. Xinglu's father, desperate not to lose his son and successor, insisted that Razette change her face so she can be offered as a sacrificial lamb. Although Razette understood and was ready to comply, Xinglu stepped in the way of his father's sword and was fatally wounded. In his dying moments, he saw only the spirit of Fest floating above him and has since then become one of the Seven Ghosts.

He is one of the Seven Ghosts, Profe, and his power is that of a prophet. His predictions always come true. He has both healing and manipulating type Zaiphon. He uses his manipulating to control plants during combat and his healing to take care of injuries sustained whilst in battle. He is one of the two characters who possess two kinds of Zaiphon, the other being Capella. Labrador is very gentle and kind, and always speaks softly to everyone. He is very patient and almost impossible to anger. Possibly due to his precognitive visions, Labrador often appears dreary or not fully aware of the events happening around him, behaving in a sleepy or dazed manner. However, he still is a capable fighter and can be dangerous when he fights seriously. He is quite a pacifist, objecting to killing even his biggest enemy, even indirectly saving his enemies' lives on one occasion. However, he will not hesitate to kill or gravely injure his opponents under certain circumstances. He also appears to be quite courageous, as he does not get intimidated by even his strongest enemies; seen when he openly challenged Ayanami twice and sardonically told Hyuuga to cut off "whichever [of my limbs] you like". He is the oldest of the bishops and gets along well with all of them. Although the other bishops argue with each other a lot, they almost never raise their voices to Labrador and respect him, even giving him the affectionate nickname "Lab (Rabu)". His relationship with Castor is especially strong, as they spend a lot of time together and have both risked their lives to save one another. He is also the only person who acts friendly towards Lance, who calls him "Master Lab (Rabu-shishou)". His real name is Ilyusha Krat. He was born to the 4th District's God House, a family said to possess accurate abilities for prophecy and a knack for cultivating medicinal plants. Ilyusha had two friends, Lem and Lirin. When Lirin contracted a fatal disease, Lem's desperation made him cry to Ilyusha for the Flower of Eden, a fabled seed that could only blossom by the Krats and that could remove one's suffering. But the Flower of Eden was a cursed plant that entangled and sealed Ilyusha's body, leaving him as a practically dead shell of his former self. The Imperial Army appeared on the scene to exterminate the Flower of Eden because it was a threat, and when they interrogated Lem if he knew anything, Lem denied any relation to Ilyusha. Ilyusha's uncle became crazed and sold incenses cultivated from the seeds of Ilyusha's blossomed flowers of Eden and the flesh of humans hunted by Lem's Wars. After his death, Ilyusha reincarnated as the Ghost, Profe, and began working in the Barsburg Church as Bishop Labrador.
A noel mermaid, who grew up with Castor. She currently sings and plays the organ in the church. Razette can also freely change her face into that of other people. If people eat her scales it allows them to breath underwater. In the anime, she seems to fear Frau, as shown when she cowers behind Teito after Frau greets her. This fact does not exist in the manga. He is obsessed with music and often plays his electric guitar and uses musical metaphors to state his opinions. While playing Akaba wears a blue eyeshield and he introduces himself to Sena as "the real Eyeshield 21." He was the MVP in the Fall Tournament during the match against Oujou's Golden Generation. He was offered a place on the Teikoku team, and accepted because of the team's strength and his father transferring to Kansai. After a confrontation with teammate Kotaro, Akaba changed his mind and decided to return to Bando. Because of the school's policy, Akaba was forced to sit out for six months from the beginning of the school year so he could not play with the team until the match against the Devil Bats. Instead, Akaba served as an adviser and instructor to his teammates, teaching them the blocking techniques he created through painstaking research. After the game against Deimon, Akaba gives his blue eyeshield to Sena (in the anime he returns Sena's original green eyeshield to him) and states that Sena deserves to be called "Eyeshield 21."
