Age: 15 (debut), 26 (end) Birthdate: November 3, 1992 Eiji Nizuma is a high school genius mangaka who has been drawing ever since he was young. Moritaka Mashiro and Akito Takagi consider him their rival. He was supposed to serialize a manga called Yellow Hit but he wanted to draw a different manga, Crow, which appeared in Akamaru Jump instead. His assisants were initially Nakai and Fukuda (Mashiro also worked for him temporarily before Detective Trap was serialized). His editor is Hattori Yujiro. He once demanded to be allowed to end one series he hated if he ever made it as the most popular author in Jump. Niizuma is slightly naive, but can also be serious and calculating when he wants to. Eiji tends to act conceited because he is hailed as a genius; however, after working on Crow for quite a long time, he grew more humble, even claiming to not be "good enough of a Mangaka to be judging other people's work" when asked by his editor to judge for the Golden Future Cup. (He judges anyway, but is not very helpful, only expressing his interest in Ashirogi and Ryu Shizuka). He tends to make noises and sound effects when drawing or writing his manga. Eiji is constantly chastised by his editor, and at first seems to be rather oblivious toward his rivals' feelings toward him, even expressing great excitement when he meets Ashirogi Muto and saying he is their fan. He is a great lover of manga and his opinion are valued by everyone at Jump, including his rivals. He refers to himself as an "Eternal Boy" and that is why he writes Shonen manga. He has only ever had a crush on one girl, back in elementary school, which paired with his naïveté most likely explains his lack of success in the Super Leaders' Love Fest.
Age: 24 (currently) Birthday: June 9, 1994 He is an assistant to Ashirogi Muto when they publish Perfect Crime Party. He is a year younger than Mashiro and Takagi. After he became a finalist in the Tezuka Award he decided to drop out of design school and concentrate on manga. Moriya seems polite but it is revealed in his thoughts he has a very negative view on others. He can be quite snippy at times. Age: 20 (debut), 28 (end) Birthday: March 11, 1990 Pen name: Kou Aoki (蒼樹 紅 Aoki Kou) Aoki is a manga creator who used to work for a shoujo magazine called Margaret Magazine, until she was advised to switch over to a shounen magazine. Over at Shounen Jump, she worked with Nakai on her series Hideout Door. She usually bears a tough exterior and can come off as having a cold personality. Aoki attended To-Oh University with Iwase, the same fictional and prestigious university that L and Light from Death Note attend together. She currently works alone, both writing and drawing her stories without the help of a more talented artist, aside from her assistants. Hiramaru courts Aoki for a while, but the relationship becomes canon when he finally proposes to Aoki while on an amusement park's ferris wheel and she accepts.
Age: 15 (debut), 25 (end) Birthday: May 8, 1993 Birthplace: Saitama-ken, Japan Iwase is an intelligent girl who was a classmate of Mashiro and Takagi during Junior High. Iwase is an academic achiever in school. She's difficult to get along with due to her strict and high-standard nature. She leads a rather lonely life however, this doesn't bother her as she's always focused on her studies. In her world, she only respects people that rivals her ranking in school. When she appeares with Miyoshi Kaya at Takagi's house after his suspension, she reveals that she liked him. She took notice of Takagi during their middle school days as the only person that managed to out-rank and out-score her in academic performance. For her, giving out a simple hand-shake was a huge deal, as it meant a physical sign of respect and even going out together. However, she was so subtle to Takagi that she entirely missed the chance to properly convey her feelings. Her occasional mouth of challenge to Takagi only suggested to him to maintain this one-sided rivalry, but in reality, she was encouraging him in her subtle romantic intentions. Things started to change when she realized Takagi dropped in his school ranking and even stopped caring about his scores. When he was pressed to choose between her and Miyoshi, Takagi made it clear he's focused on being a mangaka more than romance. When Iwase tells Takagi to not pursue his ambitions and instead continue their academic rivalry she, to her surprise, was rejected by him. She reappears in chapter 60 as a student at To-oh University and novel writer. Iwase worked in publishing to prove her line of literary works are superior to Takagi, but unfortunately, it was another unofficial rivalry that he didn't realize until she pointed it out later. Iwase however, still she sees Takagi as a rival and decides to write stories for Shonen Jump to see if she can beat him at his own game. Her editor is Hattori, who worked with Takagi and Mashiro. She later becomes the writer for Eiji's new manga +Natural. She also teams up with Eiji for a collaboration in Crow for a few chapters. After Hattori returns as Takagi and Mashiro's editor, her new editor is Miura. Her writing and plot are praised for being very well made.
Age: 23 (debut), 31 (end) Birthday: May 14, 1987 Miura is the second editor for Ashirogi Muto. He is very enthusiastic and excited, and sometimes not a hard enough editor for the boys. After Detective Trap was canceled, he pushed Mashiro and Takagi to work on a gag manga.
