Member of the 12th Division's research institute and the second-best gigai scientist in the Research Institute. Akon's appearance is that of a tall and eyebrow-less man , with a jagged part, and three short horns (and a possible fourth, which is hidden by his hair) on his forehead which he did not have when he was younger, 101 years ago. Not much is know about Akon except that he was the first to realize that Rukia Kuchiki's gigai was created by "someone working outside the laws of the Soul Society", in his words but he is refering to Kisuke Urahara. He is usually seen along his two partners Rin Tsubokura and Hiyosu. Together they were in charge of monitoring the real world for any increase in Arrancar activity during the Arrancar arc. In Turn Back The Pendulum, he joined the Science Bureau shortly after its establishment by Kisuke Urahara, 101 years prior to the present day. Curiously he did not have his horns at this time. In the present, he appears to get along quite well with Mayuri Kurotsuchi, far better than he did with Hiyori Sarugaki. He is now one of the best researchers of the Shinigami Research and Development Institute under Mayuri Kurotsuchi's charge, and is also chairman of the Shinigami Men's Association.
Tessai Tsukabishi is a tall, muscular man working for Kisuke Urahara in his shop. In reality, just like his current boss, he is a Shinigami, who was once the Captain of the Kid Corps. Like his good friend, Urahara, he was forced into exile, and currently hides in an untraceable gigai while helping out at Urahara Shop. Tessai is a quiet, stern, level-headed man who often acts as a source of discipline to Jinta's childish behavior, though he has his own sentimental side. He is quite loyal to Urahara and takes meticulous care of the shop, actually bursting into joyful tears if anyone compliments his work. Conversely, when Soifon snubs it, his instant reaction is extreme irritation. He is known to buy TV-displayed medicines, which do not always work or have unpleasant side affects, much to Urahara's chagrin. He is also among the few who find Orihime's strange food ideas tasty, the other being Rangiku Matsumoto. Tessai is a large, muscular dark-skinned man wearing square-shaped glasses and with an enormous handle-bar mustache. He is always seen in a white shirt with a blue apron, although during his time in soul society he wore an ornate dark robe over standard shinigami garb. In the past, Tessai was once the leader of the Kid Corps in Soul Society. The reason of his exile to the Human World is for using a forbidden spell even though it was for an unsuccessful attempt to capture Aizen. Currently he works as Urahara's personal assistant in both business and other duties. He has apparently held a position among the Shinigami for quite some time, at least 200 years, since he informed Rukia Kuchiki that the word "Quincy" "brings back memories" from that long ago. Celestial Violent Star, Bennu Kagaho is one of the newly introduced Specters of Hades. Kagaho shows loneliness, sadism and rage in battle and determination. He also has a memory of a lost younger brother and seems to have a rivalry with Libra Dohko. Kagaho is one of the most powerful Specters and also known as the fastest one, being able to fight against Gold Saints at the same level. His ability allows him to create black flames with his Cosmo. His ability with black flames are further seen with Corona Blast (コãƒãƒŠãƒ–ラスト Korona Burasuto?) in which Kagaho creates an enormous sphere of black fire similar to a star, then shoots it to his opponent. Kagaho is also seen using this techniques consecutively. His Crucify Ankh (クラシファイアンク Kurashifai Anku?) allows Kagaho to shoot many black fire stakes that enter into the body of the opponent and start burning him from inside. Then the black fire binds the opponent until the body is destroyed. In his fight against Taurus Hasgard, Kagaho is overpowered but Hasgard spares him saying that he didn't sense true evil in him. The fight also left him with his damaged surplice, as he only one wing remained. After the fight Kagaho seems to became more calm and even started to respect Hasgard. He was last seen after the demise of Taurus and have a brief encounter with Pegasus Tenma. (Source: Wikipedia)
Birthday: June 2 Kei is the main heroine of the second chapter in the story. She is Hiro's childhood friend and is one year younger than Hiro; she attends the same school as him too. She is also Hiro's neighbour, and she often has to go over to Hiro's house to wake him up if he had spent the previous night drawing his manga. She is very athletic and is the star player of her school's girl's basketball team. She is attracted to Hiro, and becomes jealous when she finds out how much time he is spending with Miyako Miyamura.
Birthday: June 21(Gemini) Yuuko is a mysterious girl who Hiro first meets in a church on Christmas night. She always appears generally out of no where, and disappears just as quickly in various places throughout the story to talk with Hiro or other characters and give them advice; interestingly, Miyako already knows her. She could be considered the key character throughout the ef story. She is a main character for the second series, part of which is focused around her connection to Himura. Yuuko is a kind hearted person who hates being alone and puts on a brave face, even when upset or hurt. Yuuko spends her early life in an orphanage and it is there she meets Himura. She breaks her short friendship with him after he tells her that she can't be his 'sister'. This rejection later causes her to start self-harm. She is soon after adopted by Akira, who also lost his younger sister during the earthquake. However he is physically and sexually abusive towards her, because she resembles Akira's dead sister. Yuuko keeps this quiet though, as she has no other person or home to return to. Many years later, while still living with Akira, she joins the same school that Himura attends by coincidence, as Akira is an art teacher there. She decides to follow Himura around to upset and hurt him, for the rejection he gave her so many years ago. Though the feelings of anger subside and she comes to terms with the fact that many years ago, she never wanted to be his 'sister', she wanted to tell him she loved him. After making up with Himura, and his realisation that he loves her, her life is unfortunately cut short. She is knocked down by a car while trying to save the young Mizuki as they were waiting for Himura on Christmas day, and dies alone shortly after she goes to pray in a church for the safety of her, Himura, and their child (she was carrying a child). (In the anime, young Mizuki was not the cause of her death. Instead, she was trying to pick up a small ball.) Her spirit however continues to visit the troubled people of the EF world, unknown to Himura. At the end of the second series Himura learns of her appearances and finds her spirit in the Japanese Otowa Church on Christmas Day. She spends one final day with him, but after correcting him, saying that he "loved her", rather than "loves her", she tells Himura her work is finally done and that its time for him to move on. Yuuko was 16 years old as her headstone stated she had been born in 1982 and then had passed away in 1998. Thus, the time period in EF - A Tale of Melodies was 2008.
Mizuki goes to an affiliated school and admires Kei greatly as someone who is older than her; in fact, Mizuki is also on her school's girl's basketball team. She greatly enjoys reading shjo manga. She has a straightforward attitude and likes to be frank towards others, especially to Kei. She's the main heroine of the fourth chapter from the ''Ef'' series: Ef -The latter tale-. In a tale of melodies, she falls in love with Kuze, who she met as child.
Kyosuke has a passion for filming, and constantly carries a digital video recorder around with him. On Christmas night, he saw Kei Shindo running down the street and tried to get a shot of her, but a truck passed by, so he could not get a clean shot, plus he did not realize it was Kei at the time. After immersing himself in the thoughts of the mystery girl that Christmas night, he ends up quiting the film club and his girlfriend suggests they break up, which he agrees to as well. He eventually falls in love with Kei.
