Masumi grew up in Hokkaido, attending twice per week ballet lessons with students lacking her own passion and drive. After a stunt at a ballet performance (she barges backstage without even a ticket) garners the attention of a world renowned Russian danseur, Masumi finds herself surrounded by Japan's young, elite dancers competing for the opportunity to learn from the best ballerinas and danseurs in the world. But first, she must learn the basic techniques that are crucial for success, but that she was unable to learn in the unstructured setting of her Hokkaido lessons.

The main character and Miko of the story. Although a somewhat simple-minded girl who pales in comparison to her perfect and talented twin sister, Yume embodies the power to save two worlds. As the new Miko, she is to gather up the four guardians of her own world in order to save them both. From the beginning of the story it is laid down that she believes in magic and casts protection spells on herself while she sleeps- which is why she was probably more accepting of her newfound abilities compared to other girls.
