A transfer student at Tomobiki High School, Class 2-4. She is a girl, but because her father says the successor to the Hamachaya must be a man, he raises Ryuunosuke as a boy and insists that she is one. Because her eccentric father has raised her as a boy in order to run the Hamachaya, she behaves a lot like one and is quite violent. However, since she is in fact a girl, she hates being treated like a boy. She would love nothing more than to let her feminine side show, but her father interferes in every attempt she makes. Her first love was her elementary school teacher, whom she later realizes was a woman. Only Ataru Moroboshi truly treats her like a woman, but she handles it the same way most girls handle Ataru: with a hard left hook, not that it ever stops him.
Another officer who works with Megure and has a crush on Sato which is somewhat awkwardly requited. Takagi has an appearance of ineffectual nervousness, but he's not as useless as he seems. He is quick to assess a situation and take immediate and decisive action when necessary are points in his favor. Takagi's full name and kanji comes directly from his voice actor Wataru Takagi. Created for the anime (but later appearing in the manga), the character was originally an unnamed police detective, but during one recording session Chafurin (Inspector Megure) read the line "You, what's your name?" to the character, and Takagi adlibbed the response "It's Takagi, sir!", and he has been referred to as such ever since.
She has a fraternal twin with whom she can communicate telepathically. She rarely takes part in combat, instead controlling and monitoring the computers in Deava's control room. Chloe is apparently very earnest about things and doesn't talk to people much. She has feelings for Pierre.
A dragon of heaven, Aoki is a mild-mannered copy editor with a wife and child, who is also a wind magician. In the TV series, upon discovering that the battle between the Seals and Angels is at hand, he secretly divorces his wife Shimako in order to spare her grief should he be killed. Although Aoki is very powerful, he rarely sees any action in battle for much of the first half of the story as he is quite busy editing manuscripts. He is a wind master, with the ability to conjure and control wind currents. This is his family's gift; his nephew Saiki Daisuke has the same ability, though he isn't as strong. Hayato is one of Amuro's best friend in Side 7. He joins the White Base crew to prove that he has much use as anyone else. He teams up with Ryu in the Guntank and they both make a good team at taking out Zeon Mobile Suits. After the One Year War, Hayato marries Fraw and adopts Katz, Letz, and Kikka. He becomes the leader of a resistance group called the Karaba on Earth and they associate themselves with the AEUG. He uses old technology from an old Flight museum he has for his attacks against the Titans.
A single, 24 year old man who took the job as a teacher in order to settle the two million yen loan his troubled friend conned him out of. Hayato wanted to quit his job when he found that the whole village is not normal, and that the students he was teaching were ninjas, (k. However Himawari's rescue from being run over by a train had changed his mind. Hayato is one of several anime male leads (i.e. Rock of Black Lagoon) who doesn't fit in with the surroundings but manages to find a way to survive. For Hayato; it's his luck, his ducking ability when confronted with someone more skilled than him, and some of his students taking a shine to him. During Christmas he says he hates Christmas and doesn't believe in santa or presents or any of that. His big complex is that he wants to be acknowledged by his family who ignored him to the point that they don't even call him by his name. The reason is because his older brother and sister are all genius pianists while he was never as good as them and therefore was the bastard child of the family. When Tsukiko finally confesses to him, he's like "I feel sorry for you, for liking me." Later he gets over himself and agrees to be the next student council president in addition to confessing to Tsukiko. He agrees to enter the piano recital after being begged by the music club a and because he does so well his family finally acknowledges that he has talent. He's so happy that he wants to quit school and become a pianist instead. Tsukiko is upset because she realizes that it's not that he wants to become a pianist, but he is so happy that his family recognizes him that he will do anything to continue this recognition. In the true end he marries Tsukiko 5 years later.
