Ritsuko Iwashita is a student in Class 2-B in Fumizuki Academy and is good friends with Mayumi Kikuiri. In Volume 1 it seems she is strong at math, but was still quickly defeated by Mizuki Himeji. In Volume 2 and the Matsuri OVA, she and Mayumi fight Akihisa Yoshii and Yuuji Sakamoto because of technical difficulties during the Summoned Being Tournament, but even with a 116-point lead on Akihisa, she loses due to his Shoukanjuu's agility and his teamwork with Yuuji. Her Summoned Being differs the most amongst the series' media. In the manga adaptation, it wears a black ninja uniform and wields a katana. In the anime adaptation, it wears Western-style armor and wields a sword. In Episode 2 of the Matsuri OVA, it has bunny ears, wears normal girls' clothing, and wields a giant hammer. Maika is the oldest sister of the Yoshikawa family. She can use magic, and loves cooking for her brother and sisters. She has long lilac-coloured hair, often tied back with green ribbons. She is very protective of her brother Haruo, and was immediately suspicious of Ayumi's intentions. The others often accuse her of having a brother complex, which is not entirely unjustified. As a toddler she subliminally brainwashes Haruo in his sleep by chanting "Big Brother will stay with Maika" repeatedly, and her usually caring and ladylike-personality is replaced by a possessive jealousy whenever any female shows any closeness to her brother. "Ka" means "summer" in Japanese
Karin Maaka's father, Henry Marker is a vampire who is portrayed as surprisingly human; he seems to act in a way one might call 'silly.' Despite Karin's teenage status at age sixteen, Henry still views Karin as extremely young. Despite Karin's anomalies and flaws, he still loves her dearly: this is exemplified when Karin first suffered a nosebleed at a human school, Henry braved the sunlight to rescue Karin from the hospital workers, who would have realized she was a vampire upon examination, and is severely burned in the process. Henry suffers normal paternal jealousy when the possibility of love between Karin and Kenta Usui arises. Henry is often pushed about by his wife Carrera Marker, but has a fierce side which he rarely allows the world to see. A delinquent of some accomplishment (he claims to have won a 5-against-1 fight), he is ignored and disrespected because he lacks a nickname. Often the most conservative of Kamiyama's friends, he is also frequently abducted by delinquents from Bass High School and is often the unwilling host of Cromartie High gatherings at his house. He has the most common sense of all the characters in the series.Despite his masculine looks, is an exact replica of his mother (excepting his hairstyle).

A strong family man, he loves his wife Matsu (and adopted nephew Keiji in Sengoku Basara 2) dearly but he doesn't have much for brains and seems to be perpetually famished, often asking Matsu for more food, even though he's had enough.
