Shamal, being Yuuno's counterpart, does not actually fight, but uses her ring devices to defend, create portals, absorb victims' Linker Cores into the Book of Darkness, and the like. Shamal acts as the 'mother' of the group, doing the shopping, worrying excessively over the others' well-being, and constructing excuses to Hayate as to why they're out so often ("The grocery store doesn't have our brand of olive oil"). She knows that Hayate does not want them to fight anyone for her, but it is still no question that they must. In StrikerS, she is a soft-spoken member of the Wolkenritter that specializes in defense and healing. She is a medical officer.

Keiko participated in the Fuso Sea Incident as the Fuso Army Witch. She scored top kills at 6 consecutive kills. However, the Army used Anabuki Tomoko for its propaganda movie because Keiko's fighting style was not dogfight-based. Because of that, Keiko attempted a difficult and dangerous maneuver at the victory parade and crashed, sustaining severe injuries. Due to her injuries and the fact that she turned 20 while recuperating, she retired after giving up on returning to active duty, becoming a war correspondent. However, her reinstatement application resulted in her being assigned to the post of commanding officer for the Fuso Imperial Army African Expeditionary Force Independent Flight Squadron with the rank of Flight Lieutenant. Her fighter pilot archetype is Shouji Katou.
