Toriko is 25 years old, the same age as Komatsu. He is known as one of the "Four Heavenly Kings", and his nickname is "The Glutton". Despite having a huge appetite and massive power, he doesn't indiscriminately kill and eat any animal; he only kills those animals he decides to eat. He has immunity to seventy different poisons, created by injecting himself with a near fatal dose of each poison and causing his body to create antibodies. He also has an animal-like sense of smell. He has adopted the Battle Wolf's new born pup and named it Terry Cloth. Like the other Kings, Toriko started of as a chain animal. Komatsu is 25 years old, the same age as Toriko. He is timid but greatly interested by what he finds in his travels with Toriko. As a result, he tries to overcome his fear and does his best to help. It is shown that he is a highly skilled and competent chief capable on carrying out delicate procedures such as the removal of a puffer-whale's poison sack. He is also able to create delicious plates from any food giving to him and he has such a large knowledge of foods that he knows which foods would work well together. He is also very observant, being easily able to discover edible organisms in the area. His skills didn't go unnoticed since he has impressed all three of the "Four Heavenly Kings". Toriko noted he has skills even higher than five-star class, Coco who was surprised since Komatsu's skill is most likely world class and Sani seems to be in love with the way Komatsu works as a chef since it produces the "harmony" in food that Sani holds in such high regard. Because he is otherwise normal, he'll write a will whenever he come along on Toriko's hunts. He is also currently the only chef to successfully recreated the Century Soup. He keeps a baby Wall Penguin as a pet that contains the key ingredient for the soup in it's saliva.
Kaguya was once the princess of the Lunarians, a race of people living on the Moon. She was exiled to Earth over a thousand years ago for the crime of using the forbidden Hourai Elixir to make herself immortal. Arriving on Earth in what is today central Japan, she was found by a bamboo cutter and dwelt among the humans she had once despised. Though the Lunarians looked upon humans with contempt, Kaguya came to love her new home. Her unearthly beauty led men from all across Japan to seek her hand in marriage, but none could successfully complete her trial of the Five Impossible Requests. After years of exile, emissaries arrived from the Moon; Kaguya had been forgiven of her crime and it had been decided that she should return. Kaguya, however, had grown to love life on Earth and had no desire to return to the lunar capital. Enlisting the help of her friend Eirin, Kaguya escaped from the emissaries and fled to Gensokyo. Taking refuge in an ancient mansion called Eientei hidden deep within a secluded bamboo forest, the two Lunarians began a new exile. During the events of Imperishable Night, Kaguya had been hidden in a secret pathway along with the true moon by Eirin to ensure any Lunarians sent to recover Reisen would not discover her. The heroines, however, did discover her, and challenged her to return the full moon to Gensokyo. After being defeated, Kaguya unleashed her power of eternity in an all-out bid to break the spell of the imperishable night cast by the heroines. Finally she relented and the true moon was recovered. She now spends her days living in Eientei in a carefree manner, sometimes holding exhibitions of Lunarian treasures there for the rest of Gensokyo to admire. Her long isolation has made her lonely, and she enjoys telling stories to any guests she might receive.
Youmu is one of the stranger entities in Gensokyo, part-human and part-ghost at the same time. Her two halves are not intermixed like one would expect from a cross-breed, but actually exist in physically separate bodies. Youmu has a straight-forward and focused personality, which complements her swordsmanship abilities well. However, her personality conflicts with that of her master, Yuyuko Saigyouji, who is very whimsical and playful in nature. Still, she serves Yuyuko as best as she can, tending to the gardens in Hakugyokurou and following her orders. Youmu commonly wields two blades at once, having studied some under her father, Youki. The longer blade, called Roukanken (Tower-Watching Sword) is said to be able to kill ten ghosts in one swipe; the shorter blade, Hakurouken (White Tower Sword), is able to cleave through a person's own confusion. However, not much is known about her particular style of swordsmanship, or her parents. What is known is that Youki, also a servant of Hakugyokurou, had begun training a very young Youmu when he suddenly disappeared one day, leaving her style incomplete. The characters for Yagokoro literally mean "Eight minds", and Eirin "Eternal jewel". A genius pharmacist who once lived on the moon. Kaguya persuaded her to produce the forbidden Hourai Elixir—the elixir of life—and consumed it. They were found out, and Kaguya alone was punished and was sent to the Earth, a fact which Eirin always felt guilty about. Sometime later, the moon court pardoned Kaguya's sins and summoned her back. Eirin and a handful of emissaries were sent to retrieve her, but Eirin found out that Kaguya didn't want to return to the moon. Acting out of her past guilt, Eirin betrayed and murdered all the other emissaries under the eyes of the earthlings who had fostered Kaguya. Eirin bribed the earthlings with the Hourai Elixir, in order to keep them silent, and went into hiding with Kaguya in Gensokyo.
