She is the female protagonist of the series. She lost trust in love after her boyfriend broke up with her without any explanation. Her perspective changed after going on a date with Hayato Shiina, a boy who had feelings for her since grade school. She starts dating him and gradually falls in love with him. But her love life is full of complications when her ex-boyfriend, Takumi Hogaka comes back and enrolls in the same school and sits behind her in class.

A high school girl who is best friends with Haruka, agreeing to help her get closer to Tomonaga. A secret child prodigy that doesn't get many opportunities to test and branch out her knowledge, she displays great interest in Tomonaga's research materials, showing no hesitation to get her hands on books in order to expand her knowledge and learn new things, even if they're in a different language. She hides this aspect of herself, however, holding back in her academics, content with receiving normal grades so long as no one (besides Tomonaga) finds out how smart she really is. It's been revealed that she hides the fact that she's a child prodigy because she's afraid of being hurt by being treated differently from her peers. Unlike Tomonaga whose genius was embraced and supported, Aoi was victimized, regarded as too smart for her own good and even seen as a cheater by her teachers and Mother, resulting in Aoi restraining herself when it comes to academics. She feels that no one would ever accept her for who she truly is if her true intellect came to light. It has also been implied that her family circumstances aren't the greatest, arguably even abusive, to the point where Aoi herself has stated that she's used to being physically harmed when trying to stop her parents from fighting with one another. She shares this estrangement with Touka, who is unable to get along with her family albeit for an entirely different set of circumstances. Nevertheless, Aoi is the only one who is able to get through Touka when she's being unreasonable as she is the only one that truly understands Touka's circumstances.

She is one of Tomonoga Yuu's student and Hirose Aoi's best friend. She soon falls in love with Yuu. She was being constantly sexually assaulted by her former teacher of the same subject that Yuu has taken up on currently as she was a former model and used to appear in girls magazines. She then records her former teachers actions on her and publishes it and makes him leave the college. She at starting misunderstands Yuu's as the same as her former teacher and keeps making him fall for traps everyday while he enters class. Later she understands him better and falls in love with him. When she learns that he is going to leave to America in some months she kisses him and next day confesses her love to him only to be rejected.
