Masaki Umeo is a middle schooler with a nasty temper. Because of his temper, he is causing all sorts of problems and is constantly involved in fights causing his sister to worry about his well-being. One day, he stumbles upon an Aikido class which he becomes interested in, but soon dismisses it until he meets Daniel, an english teacher from Canada.<br><br><span class="spoiler">He wants to become much stronger in order to defeat his older brother, Shigeru, which had been very violent with his mother. Eventually, he (Shigeru) ended up being stabbed by his mother.<br><br>Shigeru return one night home and fights with Umeo, and also explains to him that he will eventually become like him and his father, because violence is in their genes.</span><br>(Source: Hidoi~! Kazusa is a professional dog therapist, his partner Asuka and him begin their debut at a hospital where they meet Rino. Although Rino did not come close to them and participate Asuka goes over to her only to be injuried which later angers Kazusa and he yells at her. Kazusa is energetic and excited about his career, he also cares deeply for Asuka whom he rescued from the animal shelter. He also begins to care for Rino and helps encourage her to go to rehabilitation and try her best in all that she does.

Suzu is Rino's younger sister who after everyone found out about Rino selling herself suffered at school and in public herself. She begins to run away from home and often hangs out with many boys. Suzu refuses to listen to Rino only seeing her as a prostitute but after Kazusa forces her to see Rino during her debut dog therapy and Suzu seems to respect her sister a little more.

Rino is a hospital patient where Kazusa and Asuka provide their therapy, she is unable to move her legs and refuses to go to rehabilitation. In high school she desired to live with her boyfriend so much she sold herself to receive money for an apartment. When her boyfriend found out he pushed her away saying she was filthy and as did her school and sister with her parents blaming her for the way her sister was becoming. She attempted suicide by jumping off the school's roof but landed in some bushes so she only fractured her legs. She wishes to tear Kazusa and Asuka apart after seeing their happy faces but after injuring Asuka on two occasions she realizes the horror of what she has done.
