Askeladd's second in command, and his longest-serving and most loyal follower. He is considered Askeladd's only real friend, and stayed with him when the rest of the band rebelled. Bjorn is an extremely skilled warrior, often using a berserker mushroom to work himself up into a fury, augmenting his strength and making him resistant to pain, though losing the ability to distinguish between friend and foe. Zenon comes down with Prince Homura only because he dislikes the evil monsters and spirits. His revolving 'Demon Blaster' destroys dozen of monsters. His right eye is covered by the patch. It is revealed that the eyepatch is his demon limiter, and he goes berserk without it. Zenon agrees to follow Homura for multiple reasons. One being he is sick of his life in the heavens, and is sick of living in general, another is that he wants to find the demon who killed the mother of his son. Years ago, Zenon went freely between earth and heaven (the year was not specified in the anime). He had relations with a woman who became pregnant with his son. The gods found out about this, and Zenon agreed to give up his immortality and live as a human. However, one of his subordinates (who was a demon), was told to bring her to the heavens, and killed her instead. He wields a banishing gun like Sanzo, only his has the form of an assault rifle. He dies in battle against Goyjo and Hakkai towards the end of Saiyuki Gensomaden. Source: Wikipedia

Homura was born between the humans and the warriors of the Upper heavens. Although he succeeded Nataku Taishi who destroyed Gyumaoh-Bull Satan 500 years ago, he is fed up with utter tranquility and lazy life in the Upper Heavens. He had some relationship with Sanzo and his comrades. He calls them by their names from a previous existence. He is eager to get Sanzo's Sutra of Dark Power. His ultimate ambition seemed to be the creation of a perfect world with Son Goku as a tool, but it is shown near the end of Saiyuki Gensomaden, that he was looking to be defeated by somebody who is worthy of him, Son Goku--the "perfect world" was only a place where he could obtain the most honorable and worthy death. His weapon is a flaming long sword possessing tremendous power. He can wipe out a troop of monsters at one swing. He uses the Power of Spirit, better known as Chi, like Cho Hakkai. He's always seen wearing a pair of handcuffs which serve as his power-limiters, and becomes far stronger when he takes them off. He fought and easily defeated Goku on a number accessions to push into becoming more during Saiyuki Gensomaden, and eventually pushed Goku into growing strong enough to the point where he as able to kill him at the end of Saiyuki Gensomaden. He is keeper of the Tenchi Kaigen “Muten” Sutra, and one of the active Sanzo priests. Currently he hides his origins, and shoulders the role of executing the Gyuumaoh revival experiment at Houtou Castle, although his purpose in doing so is unknown. He is always observing the movements of the Sanzo Ikkou from afar. He encourages trouble from afar because he enjoys watching their future like a game. This isn’t limited to the Sanzo Ikkou; he has the nearby Kougaiji group at his mercy with his belittling behavior. He was born and raised in an extremely normal, albeit rich family. Both his parents were graduate school professors. Although he entered graduate school at a young age, skipped a few years and received his doctorate in accordance with his parents’ expectations, one day he suddenly left home to become a Buddhist monk. He had an interest in the Sanzo priests, and had become an apprentice monk called “Kenyuu” when he met Koumyou Sanzo. After murdering the previous Sanzo priest Goudai and succeeding to the title of Sanzo priest himself, he was christened “Ukoku” by Koumyou. He wandered the world with Koumyou for a year, after which he set out on a solitary, roaming journey. Nii Jienyi is another face of Ukoku Sanzo, a temporary guise known as the “leading professor in life sciences”. He effaces the dignity of a “Sanzo priest” by spiking his hair, growing stubble, and wearing a shabby white coat. Because of his outstanding skills in science and knowledge of youkai magics, he is the only human allowed to live in Houtou Castle. He has a physical relationship with Gyokumen Koushu. Although he usually puts on an act of flattering her, it seems he is skillfully pulling the strings behind her back. Recently, he pulled the “Muten Sutra” from within the stuffed bunny he had always carried around with him, and once more begins to act from the shadows and “Priest Ukoku Sanzo”. His power is to bury all creation in a darkness blacker than night. It voids any and all attacks.
