Alford is a skilled swordsman who crossed paths with Yuri in the early seasons of Kyo Kara Maoh. Alford has long, brown hair, parted down the middle, with his bangs cut short and the rest reaching past his shoulders. He wears a blue undershirt which matches his eyes, and a red vest with a white trim. Alford was mislead for years to believe that Demons were evil, and he trained extensively in order to destroy them. However, after meeting Yuri, he realizes that he was wrong and even managed to befriend them. Alford is confronted by Velma who convinces him to join her on their quest to slay a dragon. He agrees, and when he meets Yuri and Conrad in the forest, they cross swords. Conrad is revealed to have known Alford's father and it manages to break his ideals. Originally the 2nd-ranked second-year Pandora, she became 1st-ranked after seizing the advantage of Kazuya's interference to defeat Satellizer. While she sees herself as Satellizer's rival, she does consider her a friend and comrade. Her Volt Weapon, Chains of Binding (�縛�鎖, Sokubaku no Rensa), are four (six in the anime) chained flails attached to her back which she can manipulate in movement and length. In the anime, two of the flails transform into circular saws, which she uses to brutally attack Satellizer.

When sitting on his haunches, he is taller than most humans. He was left in front of Gintoki's apartment in a box that had "To Mr. Freelancer" written on it. Sadaharu chomps on anything smaller than itself, such as Gintoki's and other people's heads. Kagura seems to be the only one who can control him, for she has immense strength, though he chomps on her occasionally. Though he was dangerous when Gintoki first received him, he has become quite tame in the later episodes, and has helped the main characters in many occasions. He was named by Kagura, after her first pet, a rabbit which she accidentally killed while having a nightmare. He was originally owned by a pair of miko sisters, who initially called him Kamiko.
