Rei Kurosawa is the main heroine of Fatal Frame 3: Rei Shisei no Koe. Having survived a fatal car crash that took the life of her fiancé, Yuu Asou, Rei is beset with grief and guilt, wishing to be with him once more. Her grief becomes dangerous, however, when she starts to visit a strange manor in her dreams. It is known as the Manor of Sleep, and after seeing Yuu inside, Rei follows him in further and further, not knowing that those who follow the dead too far in never return.

Shigure is one of the four Handmaidens appointed to serve in the Kuze Shrine and adopted into the Kuze family. Just like all the other pacifiers, she wore a priestess attire of white and red. Shigure looks similar to the other handmaiden, Minamo. You can tell the two apart by looking at their hair. Shigure has short black bangs, and shorter, shoulder-length hair, tucked behind her ears. Like Hisame and Minamo, she carries an impaling stake and mallet. Shigure was charged with the watching the Shrine Carpenters so they couldn’t escape their impending death. Unlike Hisame and Minamo, Shigure had a compassionate and sympathetic side, especially toward Amane. When she found out about Amane's plan to sneak Kaname into the shrine, she pleaded with Amane not to break the Kuze Code. After following orders from Yashuu Kuze to impale Amane, Shigure is the only Handmaiden to express any guilt at what she did.

Reika Kuze is the main antagonist of Fatal Frame III. She was the last Tattooed Priestess before the Unleashing occurred. Her birth name was Reika Yukishiro, and later changed to Kuze after she was adopted by Kuze family.
