Alanna met Ash and his friends outside of the Trick House. Like them, she wanted to enter the Trick House contest in order to win the one-year supply of Pokéblocks. She was accompanied by her Whismur. Alanna seemed to be a fan of The King of Tricks. While May thought he was crazy she believed he was eccentric. During the maze portion of the Trick House, Alanna got separated from her Whismur. Team Rocket wasted no time to use this opportunity to steal Whismur and give it to the boss. Unfortunately they couldn't exactly find their way out of the maze. Soon the group gets out of the maze the same time Team Rocket does. Alanna sees that they have her Whismur. But because Team Rocket were wearing disguises, she thinks that they rescued her Whismur. Alanna sticks with Ash and the gang through the rest of the Trick House. However they kept getting sabotaged by Team Rocket. They eventually attempt to steal Whismur and Pikachu again. This time Ash and Alanna battled them and send Team Rocket blasting off. Unfortunately none of them reach the end first. A boy named Ivan was the winner. Alanna's Whismur develops a friendship with the recurring Jigglypuff, being that it is the only one that does not fall asleep during its song due to its ability. By the end of the episode, Whismur was tired from all the battling and went to sleep. Jigglypuff believed that it fell asleep because of its song and gets mad at it.
Calista appeared to be very enthusiastic about archeology and Pokémon. However, her parents refused to support her decision to pursue this career. One day, she received a phone call telling her to go and locate a tree hole in a forest with her Baltoy. With Ash's help, they located a mysterious woman in the tree hole, but she disappeared soon after. Following her into the hole, they found a large number of boulders, which Baltoy moved aside. Underneath, they found a badly injured Baltoy. Suddenly, the mysterious woman appeared and informed the kids that she was Calista's future self. She put her Baltoy on an altar when it fell, trapping it under the boulder. She called Calista in the past, hoping she'd help save Baltoy. After saving it, future Calista reminded present Calista not to give up on her hobbies. She also made a very brief cameo in One Big Happiny Family during the Team Rocket scheme segment.
While on their way to Fallarbor Town, Ash and his friends noticed a Bagon trying to jump off of a cliff. As it turns out, the Bagon belonged to Michelle. She informed Ash and the others that it wanted to evolve into a Salamence so that it could fly. When Meowth heard about this, he immediately decided to help Bagon accomplish its goal, in addition to get the Dragon Pokémon on Team Rocket's side. Using a jet pack, he took Bagon and flew away with it. Thanks to Ash and his Pokémon, Bagon was saved from the evil trio. Immediately after its rescue, it evolved into Shelgon.
Ash and his friends first met Elijah shortly after they left Fortree City. They helped him cross a river with his Camerupt. After helping him, they learned that Elijah traveled to small towns all over Hoenn, bringing different movies to them. In one small town, he met a little girl named Mariah, who always awaited Elijah's return with the movies. At one point, Team Rocket tried to steal the movie he was about to show. Fortunately, the film unraveled and all Ash and the others had to do was follow it. After being sent off, Elijah was able to reach the town safely and show the movie to all the children.
Janet is the coordinator who inspired May to participate in Contests and to catch her very own Beautifly. In the episode, she won the Rustboro Contest with her Beautifly. She was mentioned by May in Hi Ho Silver Wind!, who noted that they stayed in touch while traveling. Bulbapedia
Rico (Japanese: リョウ RyÅ�) is a Pokémon poacher who appeared in A Poached Ego!. When Ash and his friends found a piece of one of Rico's traps in the woods, they told Jenny about it when they visited the Pokémon Center. Jenny knew Rico was up to his usual evil deeds, and Ash and his friends volunteered to help Jenny capture Rico. Ash and his friends didn't find Rico, but Jessie, James and Meowth found him, along with a group of caged Ekans and Koffing which Rico was going to give to his employers. Team Rocket fought Rico for the freedom of the Ekans and Koffing, but Rico defeated them, although Team Rocket managed to rescue the Ekans and Koffing. To be sure they were safe, they released their Arbok and Weezing to look after them. After running into Ash and his friends and Officer Jenny he ended up being captured. As Rico confessed to Ash and his friends and Jenny that the Pokémon he captured escaped, they were unaware of the fact Jessie, James and Meowth freed them. He is currently in jail. Bulbapedia
Tommy (Japanese: タクト Takuto) is a student of the Pokémon Trainer's School in Rustboro City. He is voiced by Suzanne Goldish in English and 大谷育江 Ikue Ohtani in Japanese. He is famous for being arrogant and for his impressive knowledge about Pokémon, so when Max was visiting the school in Gonna Rule The School!, Tommy became jealous. He battled Max during a training class the next day in a one-on-one Pokémon battle. Using Magby against Max's Poliwag (though both Pokémon actually belonged to the school), he attempted to defeat Max in order to save face. However, as is usually the case, Team Rocket interrupted in order to make off with all the Pokémon they could. Together, the whole class was able to defeat the villains and send them blasting off again, making Roxanne proud. Bulbapedia
