Oolong is a shapeshifting humanoid pig, standing about three feet tall with pale pink skin, who tends to dress in trousers, button-down shirts, and suspenders. He was expelled from shapeshifting training for stealing the teacher's underwear and lacks the ability to change his form for more than five minutes at a time without a break. With his shapeshifting, Oolong can look like anything at all. Oolong's initial appearance was as a villain who terrorized a village and kidnapped their young women. Son Goku defeated Oolong and the girls were returned to their village. Bulma decided that he might be useful on her Dragonball quest and persuaded him to join their expedition. Eventually he becomes good friends with Goku and the others, and helps them to find more Dragonballs. He plays a large role in the beginning of Dragon Ball, but by the end of Dragon Ball Z, he just shows up from time to time. His poor shapeshifting skills (and innate cowardice) made him a very weak character that didn't have much to do once the tone was shifted to more serious action. In the anime and several movies, he appears quite often as comic relief. He is loosely based on the character Zhu Bajie from the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West.
Age: 13-14 Birthday: October 18 Kodaka's younger sister; she is a student in middle school, but nonetheless joins the club. She is very close to her brother, who she calls "An-Chan", and behaves in a jealous and clingy way whenever she feels that he is not giving her the attention she deserves, to the point where it is obvious that she has a brother complex. She sees Maria as a rival for Kodaka's brotherly affections, so she often gets into fights with her. She has a penchant for darkness, vampires and the macabre ever since she started watching an anime called Full Metal Necromancer. As a result she often speaks in an affected fashion, and claims to be known as "Reisys VI Felicity Sumeragi", an ancient vampire who has lived for ten thousand years, but this façade quickly breaks down when she gets emotionally worked up and she speaks in a strong KyÅ«shÅ« accent. Indeed, her behavior does not for the most part differ from that of a regular girl (procrastinating with her homework, staying inside when it is hot, etc.) which Kodaka points out, causing her to be embarrassed and slightly lose character. Age: 16 Birthday: June 13 Blood type: O Yukimura is an effeminate student who claims to be a boy, even to Kodaka's disbelief. Yukimura has deep respect and admiration for Kodaka, and even calls him "aniki" (big bro, often used with gang leaders). Yukimura wishes to learn from "aniki" how to be a stronger and more manly boy. In Volume 4 of NEXT it is revealed Yukimura is female. Due to her family really wanting a son, she was made to believe that she was a man from very young. She was even in denial that she was female upon Kodaka telling her so until Rika gave her a "lesson" much to Yukimura's shock at the actual truth.
Birthday: May 19 The wealthy blonde daughter of the school's headteacher, Sena shows a dislike of all things "ordinary." She is both attractive and academically successful, but her resulting arrogance leads her to be disliked by her female peers. Their admiration eludes her, much as she desires it; she treats her male classmates only as servants to be used, although many of them would like to be her boyfriend. Nonetheless, she holds Kodaka to a higher standard. Kodaka concludes that she is the weirdest member of the club, as she is able to warrant weird and disgusted looks not only from Yozora and Kobato, but also from Yukimura and Rika. She enjoys playing video games—including dating sims and eroge—partially because they allow her to make female (if virtual) friends. Yozora calls her "Meat" (Niku) an insulting nickname which she secretly likes because it is the first she has ever received. Her father is a friend of Kodaka's father, and pulled strings so that Kodaka could attend St. Chronica's. She really likes Kobato, since she always get really excited when she sees her. Usually, when Sena and Yozora fight, Sena usually runs from the room crying and shouting "Stupid Yozora! Go die!". It is hinted that she has feelings for Kodaka. In Volume 7 of the Light Novel, it was revealed that Kodaka and Sena are fiancés betrothed by their fathers which she fully accepts. In Volume 8, Sena proposes to Kodaka, asking him to marry her. Sena also confesses to Kodaka that she loves him. In Volume 9, Kodaka replies to Sena's confession. He loves her, but due to the circumstances within the club, he is begging her to be patient. As long the club exists, he doesn't want to go out on dates. Sena agrees and the club returns to the old status quo.
A freshman and highly capable mad scientist. She was saved by Kodaka when she fell unconscious during a disastrous lab experiment, and begs to repay his kindness with sex; she joined the Neighbor's Club just to get closer to him. As a fujoshi, she is a passionate consumer of BL d�jinshi and magazines, is comically aroused by intercourse between mecha, and is delighted when Yukimura offers to have sex with Kodaka. Although there are many adult themes in the series, she is the most sexually forward member. This was clearly highlighted in her first speaking appearance, when she described the attractions of rape to Kodaka in the middle of a stunned class. She has a habit of inserting any sexual innuendo possible in her sentences, to the point where she finds it normal to convert every innocent thought into something perverted. Rika is proud of her pervertedness, as she says that she would be a boring person if people only thought of her as a genius girl. To compound her eccentricity, she speaks in the third person. In Volume 7, it was made clear that she's surprisingly the one who knows the most about Kodaka's feelings; seeing that he was just playing ignorant to their feelings despite fully well knowing them; as well as knowing his reasoning for doing so In Volume 8, Rika agrees to be Kodaka's friend, making him the first friend she's ever got in her entire life.
Birthday: July 30 The protagonist, a transfer student who has not been able to make friends in his first month at St, Chronica's. Of all of the members of the club, he is the most gentle, balanced and socially competent in personality; but his unusual hair color, inherited from his late English mother, leads classmates to assume he is a violent and abusive delinquent and spread defamatory rumors about him. Because of his long experience of antagonism, Kodaka has become accustomed to fighting and can defend himself quite well. His father is working in the United States, and so he takes care of his younger sister alone at home, which has also made him a good cook. His childhood was characterized by frequent movement, and as a result he has few memories related to home life and close friendships; however, though he does not realize it at first, he and Yozora were childhood friends before his family moved. In volume 7 of the novel, it was revealed that Kodaka and Sena are fiancés betrothed by their father's which Sena fully accepts. In the end of volume 7, it is shown that Kodaka has been aware of the feelings of those around him for a very long time but plays ignorant because he fears losing the feeling of friendship that he wanted for such a long time. In volume 8, Kodaka asks Rika to be his friend. This is the first time Kodaka has made a true friend in a decade since Yozora. In volume 9 he declares to Sena that he loves her but abruptly states that he can't go out with her. Kodaka also made it further to the point of intending of doing sexual acts with Sena such as fondling and playing with her breasts, much to Sena's molestation, but Kodaka still infers that he can't go out with Sena in the hopes of protecting the Neighbor's Club's existence. After constantly trying to persuade Sena by kneeling and begging to her, Sena reluctantly accepts out of her love for Kodaka. Kodaka then thanks Sena for her understanding as he claims to himself that his first battle as a useless protagonist ended with a spectacular victory.
Birthday: July 26 Blood Type: A A cruel and selfish black-haired girl who says she understands and respects bullying but resents being called a bully herself, Yozora's difficult personality drives away anyone who might wish to make friends with her before she meets Kodaka. She is physically abusive towards, and often argues with, Sena and manipulative towards Maria, who she cons into giving up an empty room for the use of the Neighbor's Club, and Yukimura, who she fools into working for the club as a crossdressing cosplay maid. The only person she can't insult is Rika, as Rika takes whatever insult she gives her and deflects it back with a dirty joke that leaves her tired—to the point where she just does what Rika says (like crossdress for example) rather than argue. She is Kodaka's childhood friend, though at the time, he believed that she was a boy, calling her "Sora"; her nickname for him was "Taka." On the day that Kodaka moved, she intended to wear a skirt and reveal her gender to him but was too embarrassed to do so. She seems to have feelings for Kodaka. It is implied through out the novel but is finally revealed in volume 7 that the only reason Yozora made the club was to spend time alone with Kodaka; and that she had no interest in gaining friends in the first place It is revealed in the Volume 9 of the light novel that Yozora's original surname was Hidaka. Her father abandoned her and her mother due to the interference of another woman. Yozora tried to cheer her mother up, only to unintentionally madden her in the subsequent process, resulting her mother hurting her with a kitchen knife. Because of such an incident, it left a giant scar in her mind and she lost trust in people around her, resulting in the cruel facade she puts up later on in her life.
