Keita is the male lead of the show. He was considered a failure by his family due to his attitude towards their ancient duty to vanquish evil, treating it like a parttime job, and his initial inability to find an Inukami to bond with. Even though Yôko becomes his inukami and is fully interested in him, he has a bad habit of flirting with other girls; it is later revealed that Keita is mortified by the thought that, if he should develop a relationship with Yôko, he might become the father of a litter of puppies, rather than of a human baby. He is frequently punished for his transgressions by Yôko, to whom he had to promise that he would be loyal to her, that he would be hers and that he would be her toy, to do with whatever she wanted, before she would contract with him. He wears a dog's collar as a symbol of this pact - an item he originally intended as his 'vow gift' to Yôko. Yôko has frequently landed him in jail by teleporting him into a public place without his clothes, causing him to be mistaken for a streaker and arrested for indecent exposure. Due to this, he has been named Ra-ou (Naked King) by the city's perverts (male and female alike). Keita possesses considerable athletic skills, can make frog-shaped talismans up to around the size of his fist from rubber which he can use to make ranged attacks and is a practitioner of xingyiquan. However, a shinigami named 'Sea of Violence' commented his martial arts skill lack style. Despite his many flaws, Keita has considerable redeeming qualities; he is determined, usually fearless and loyal to his friends and to people under his protection.
Sola runs in races with Team Edge Raid, similar to Luca from Team Satomi. Sola used to be the only cybernetic pet racing in the IG-1 League. That has since changed. Sola has a lot of bark, but can still admit defeat. Sola also has a sentimental spot, but is still a dog at heart.

She is a two-year-old robot created by Satomi Hakase to serve Evangeline and protect her during time where the spell binding her weakens her. She is initially without any real emotions, but after spending time around Negi, she begins to have feelings for him, and show emotions, such as embarrassment when the crush is brought up, her internal gears increasing in speed during moments where a human's heart would beat faster, and even leaking laser fluid from her eyes when she's upset. These feelings go against her original programming, which excites Hakase. She spends most of her free time helping people and rescuing stray animals. She strongly fears the idea that she is nothing more than a soulless doll and that she does not have a soul; however, during the Governor's ball in the Magic world she forms a pactio with Negi (in Nagi form) which appears to have a cat theme, proving that she does indeed have a soul; as Pactio contracts can only be formed between those with true souls. Chachamaru's body is powered by an internal spring combined with magic, and it has to be wound with a key by someone with magical energy to power her. The actual winding process is apparently pleasurable and/or arousing, although too much magic can intensify the feeling to uncomfortable levels. She is skilled in hand to hand combat, and she is equipped with rocket fists, laser emitters, magic-powered thrusters that can allow her to fly for fifteen minutes, and a tool to undo binding circles. Her body has been upgraded several times, and she is later given a completely new body that looks completely human, unlike her original body's easily detectable parts; she even has a chibi body designed to disguise herself. The upgrade also allows her to transform her arms into swords and guns.
Sol is part of the Element 4 group. He along with Juvia were sent to capture Lucy to bring her back to their master, Jose. He is nicknamed Sol of the earth, as shown by his name his magic consists of controlling and creating the different forms of earth (sand, rocks, etc.) he has also been shown to be able to wrap his body around a persons arm maybe even their whole body. Sol often uses French linguistics in his speech as well as talking in a rhythmic pattern, he also gives his attacks musical names mix with the French names of different kinds of earth (Roche[rock] Concerto, Plâtre[plaster] Sonata, etc). Sol is one of a number of Zeon soldiers stationed at a remote base. When White Base nears the base, a fellow soldier, Cuaran comes up with a plan to destroy the Gundam by placing bombs on it. Sol takes part in Cuaran's team, who are successful in attaching a half dozen bombs on the Gundam, but watch as Amuro is able to remove all of them. They drive by in civilian clothes afterwards and wish him and the other White Base crew good luck.
