Keita is the male lead of the show. He was considered a failure by his family due to his attitude towards their ancient duty to vanquish evil, treating it like a parttime job, and his initial inability to find an Inukami to bond with. Even though Yôko becomes his inukami and is fully interested in him, he has a bad habit of flirting with other girls; it is later revealed that Keita is mortified by the thought that, if he should develop a relationship with Yôko, he might become the father of a litter of puppies, rather than of a human baby. He is frequently punished for his transgressions by Yôko, to whom he had to promise that he would be loyal to her, that he would be hers and that he would be her toy, to do with whatever she wanted, before she would contract with him. He wears a dog's collar as a symbol of this pact - an item he originally intended as his 'vow gift' to Yôko. Yôko has frequently landed him in jail by teleporting him into a public place without his clothes, causing him to be mistaken for a streaker and arrested for indecent exposure. Due to this, he has been named Ra-ou (Naked King) by the city's perverts (male and female alike). Keita possesses considerable athletic skills, can make frog-shaped talismans up to around the size of his fist from rubber which he can use to make ranged attacks and is a practitioner of xingyiquan. However, a shinigami named 'Sea of Violence' commented his martial arts skill lack style. Despite his many flaws, Keita has considerable redeeming qualities; he is determined, usually fearless and loyal to his friends and to people under his protection.
Student Number: 2 Birthday: June 1, 1988 She is an athletic girl who plays basketball and is often seen together with Makie, Ako, and Akira (a.k.a. the Sports clubs group). Her father is Professor Akashi, one of the Mage-teachers at the Academy. Yuna is the most mischievous one amongst the sports girls. Her pactio items are basketballs and a pair of shoes allowing her to jump very high. Yuna's surname, Akashi, comes from the Japanese city of the same name in Hy�go Prefecture. In the manga, she is depicted to have black hair. In both anime series, her hair is depicted to have a shade of brown; in the Mahou Sensei Negima! series, her hair is somewhat close to sandy taupe; in Negima!?, her hair is colored brown. She finds out while in the magical world, that her mother did not die in an overseas accident like she thought, but was killed while on a mission for the magical government, which possibly involved Nagi's fight against Fate Averruncus' organization.

Her dedication to digging out the "truth" extends to knowingly working with her friends enemies so long as she gets a "scoop." She finds out about the secret of magic while spying on Negi, though she is persuaded to keep it a secret in exchange for a probationary contract. She is close friends with Sayo, the ghost girl, and often has her spy on people in order to obtain a scoop. She later obtains a doll for Sayo to possess, so that she can leave the school grounds. Her pactio, "Oculus Corvinus," creates up to six small golem cameras that she is able to manipulate and send to any part of the world.
Manda is the personal summon of Orochimaru. Manda was the largest snake in the world, before being recently out-sized by his clone, Manda II. He easily towers over buildings, trees, and large rock formations. Due to his length, he is even larger than Gamabunta and Katsuyu, easily coiling around Katsuyu and having more length behind him, and he could open his jaws wide enough to swallow Gamabunta whole. He is colored purple, and has black rings running down intervals on his body. He has massive fangs, though they are arranged in a way similar to that of a constrictor snake instead of a viper or other venomous snake species, presumably carrying venom in them from the way they were designed, and green eyes. He also has four horn-like protrusions on his head.

A Goi (non-magician) and was a former inhabitant of the 5th Level Authorization District of Magnostadt. She was rescued by Titus Alexius whom she forged a special bond with.
Sakuya is the only human living in the Scarlet Devil Mansion, yet she is also the head maid. The official fanbook suggests she had been a vampire hunter before she began working in the mansion, but she was defeated by Remilia Scarlet who pitied her and gave Sakuya her current name. Though she looks about sixteen like the other girls, Sakuya has the ability to slow, stop and possibly reverse time. She seems to have been serving Remilia for a long time and may be far older then she looks. Socially, she interacts mainly with the others in the Scarlet Devil Mansion. Her talents are cooking, knife throwing and time manipulation. The latter two abilities characterize her appearances in-game, and led to frequent parodies in reference to Dio Brando of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, who also controls time and throws knives. This reference goes so far as Sakuya using some of his poses in a game. She is often associated with dogs by other characters because she is serving as a demon's "faithful guard dog" even though she is a full blood human.
