First appearing in Final Fantasy VII. Red XII is a young warrior and last of his tribe. He first meets Cloud in the Shinra HQ as a test subject of the scientist Hojo. Red goes with Cloud and the others throughout the entire game developing tight bonds and learning about his own shrouded history. Red again appears in Final Fantasy Advent Children in a cameo appearance in the fight against Bahamut-SIN with Cait Sith riding on his back. Although much older then the rest of the cast at 50 years of age. Red's race lives for several years making him the equivalent of 18 in human years. Red is deep and thoughtful, with a sweet innocent demeanor. Red is always looking out for others and has a strong sense of loyalty both to his friends and his home town of Cosmo Canyon.
Denzel is a young brown-haired boy who resides with Cloud, Tifa, and Marlene in Edge. Denzel's first appearance was in Advent Children, and is the focus of Case of Denzel, part of the tie-in series of novellas On the Way to a Smile. He is the son of a woman named Chloe and a Shinra worker named Abel. Reeve's mother, Ruvie, raised Denzel until her death. Eventually, Denzel is found by Cloud and taken to live with him, Tifa, and Marlene. Denzel is voiced by Ky�suke Ikeda in Japanese and Benjamin Bryan in English. In Case of Denzel, Denzel's parents are killed by the collapse of the Sector 7 plate. Before dying, Abel entrusted Denzel to an inhabitant of Sector 5 named Arkham, and Denzel was subsequently raised by Ruvie Tuesti. When Ruvie died in the chaos resulting from the Lifestream burst, Denzel settled in the Midgar ruins with Rick, a new friend, helping to collect material for the construction of the new town Edge. Rick later left Denzel, who wandered and eventually comes across Cloud's motorcycle. Soon afterwards, Denzel suffered a Geostigma attack and collapsed and was found by Cloud. Cloud believed that Aerith's influence had led Denzel to his bike and, as a result, Cloud brought him home with him. In Advent Children, Denzel's Geostigma continues to weaken him to the point that he agrees to accompany Yazoo to be "cured." Denzel, along with other abducted children, are taken to the Ancient City of the Cetra. There, Kadaj manipulates them and they fall under his control, having been awakened to a "Reunion Instinct." After a failed rescue attempt by Cloud, Denzel and the other children are taken to Edge, acting as human barriers for Yazoo and Loz whom attempt to tear down the Midgar memorial. Denzel regains himself after Tifa protects him from Bahamut SIN and returns to 7th Heaven to be with Marlene. Denzel is cured of his Geostigma by Cloud using Aerith's purified water. Unlike many of the Shinra executives, Reeve shows sincere concern for Midgar citizens, and eventually, the Planet itself. This sense of empathy is reflected in what little is shown about his family; he is close to his parents. Reeve hates Scarlet, most likely because of her ruthless and inhumane personality. He is also shown to have a sense of humor shown when he asked the party if they were interested in what "Kya ha ha" and "Gya ha ha" were planning (nicknames referring to Scarlet and Heidegger respectively from their signature laughs). The Witch looks quite scary and has some powerful magic in her possession, but is a harmless old lady despite her strong dislike of the Moomins. She would prefer Alice not to play with them and pay more attention to her studies, but does warm up for them later on. (This character does not appear in the original stories or comics.)
Creatures who appear in the second episode. They kidnapped Meruru and Freni when they try to cross the river, but subsequently rape both of the girls.
The Corporal is the spirit haunting the radio Harvey always carries with him. He was a soldier in the war eighty years ago, and was killed by Harvey. He now helps the two on their journey! Harvey made the promise to bring the Corporal back to his grave so that he can find peace there. As the group finally arrives at their destination he forgives Harvey for killing him stating that it was war and thus only logical for both of them to try and kill each other. He then takes his leave but beforehand encourages Harvey to stay with Kieli, although Harvey seems to be reluctant. He also sees through Harvey's plan to end his life at the old mine. After Harvey and Kieli are attacked and Harvey's core is taken by the Church's soldiers the Corporal returns and saves him from his temporary death by possessing his body for a short amount of time and getting Kieli to help take Harvey's core back and revive him. After that he decides to accompany both of them on their journey. Novels only Over time the Corporal develops a strong bond towards Kieli. He wants to keep her away from harm and see her happy. His relationship towards Harvey is built out of mutual trust and annoyance at the same time. More than once the two of them get into fights because of Harvey's seeming indifference and his behaviour towards Kieli. In volume 3 one of their fights escalates and the consequences of it nearly lead to their deaths and the destruction of a whole town. At the same time the Corporal has a quite good understanding of what's going on in Harvey's head. As Harvey decides to leave Kieli and him at the end of volume 3 the Corporal accepts this decision without making a fuss, only assuring that Harvey really plans on coming back.
