Nishina Rie has played the violin since she was young, she entered a lot of concerts, and had won many competitions. Rie was set to go study overseas, but she was then involved in an accident that weakened her grip and prevented her from playing the violin as well as she used to. Rie was lonely when she entered this school, she almost gave up her life when Koumura confronts her and teaches her chorus. Thus, Rie regained her meaning of her life, and wants to create the choir club. In Kotomi's path, she lends Kotomi a violin, after Kotomi hears the violin from her. In the After Story, Rie works as a waitress in the same family restaurant as Nagisa.

She's a beginner actress and cast as Madoka.

Rie is the daugther of a Samurai. Her father was Hanamura, a vassal of the shogun. For generations the Hanamura family shouldered important roles for the shogunate, but after Rie's father was suspected of misappropiating funds, the family was wiped out. Rie's father claimed he was innocent, but the higher ups didn't want to hear it. After that, her father committed suicide. Having lost her home and family, Rie became a female swordsman.

Made her appearance in Episode 6. Part of the main cast for the series "Spiral Café." Futaba worked with her with the role of being the little sister of Kugimiya's character.
