After her parents died she lived with her elder married sister, brother-in-law and niece. She visits New York City as part of her graduation trip with her friends and after visiting Washington D.C. alone, she meets Takizawa Akira who helps her out when is questioned by the police for suspicious behavior. She gives the completely nude Akira her coat, scarf and hat. After noticing that she left her passport in the coat, she chases after Akira and then they decide to go back together to Tokyo, Japan. She plans later on working in a company under the recommendation of her brother-in-law because she is ashamed of living off their money. She could only go to college with the aid of her sister and her brother in law. Saki also harbors a long-time crush on her sister's husband, and especially wants to leave their house since she cannot bear being around him. Most of Saki's friends are NEETs who developed the Eden system that they plan to launch and bring themselves out of unemployment. Her only friend with a job, Ohsugi, has had a deep and long-lasting crush on her that she does not return; whether she is actually oblivious to his feelings or simply pretending not to notice as to not hurt his feelings is unclear. She starts developing a deeper connection with Akira as her fascination with the enigmatic stranger grows every time she meets him.

Izumi Isozaki is two years younger than the other characters and is very much like Itsuki Akiba. However, she isn't as shy in expressing her emotions, especially her love for Ichitaka Seto. In fact, she announces her love to pretty much everyone she knows. Also, she's more daring and is quite superstitious when it comes to love. She constantly tails Seto, and on more than one occasion, had tried to seduce Seto to go to bed with her in order to prove her love. Izumi persists in attempting to obtain Seto's love and says that she will try whatever it takes to get him to be with her. She is introduced half-way through the manga, where she meets Seto on the beach on their summer vacation, and after that, she discovers that they go to the same school. She falls for Seto after he defends her from her overly-aggressive boyfriend, and tricks him into going on dates throughout the series. She is determined that he is her soulmate, and she wants him to be her boyfriend.
Fourteen-year-old Hatsune avails her Level 4 metamorphosis as a member of The Hound Special Esper Team alongside of her partner Akira. Much to Akira's chagrined frustration, Hatsune demonstrates the proclivity to behave her default lupine alternate manifestation which is only at its greatest efficacy when she is hungry—hungry as in 'have not eaten for days' ravenous rather than merely being peckish. Unfortunately, Hatsune's voracious appetite does have the tendency to displace the mission at hand. Even as this flaw is somewhat diminished as Minamoto trains her, Hatsune still has to overcome the fact that she computes and conducts in lupine/canine maneuvering rather than anthropoid action. Even with her canine conduct and gluttony set aside for the moment, Hatsune demonstrates a proclivity to become enthralled with anyone that sees past her exterior to interact with her as a human being and twice tries to claim Minamoto for herself. As Kaoru emphatically and vigorously demonstrates at her natural potency designation during an exercise regarding Minamoto and his affiliation, whoever is decided upon to supervise Hatsune will have to establish and maintain dominance right from the start without being cruel or despotic. Offended by Chisato's telepathic intrusion into his thoughts, T�no takes his anguish too far and it blossoms into an intense aversion for all espers. Yuka is another classmate of Ichitaka/Iori's, and along with Nami, is one of Iori's closest friends. Though she doesn't stand out too much among the rest of the group, she seems to be the only one that Iori can talk deeply to about her issues in life. She (to everyone's surprise) develops a crush on Teratani halfway through the manga, though when he ends up rejecting her those feelings turns into that of contempt. She doesn't exactly hate Ichitaka, but is put off by his timidness. In the end, she supports him all the way.
