Gerald is the half older brother of Usui Takumi. He first appeared in chapter 50. He and Takumi appear to be in bad terms, due also to the fact that Takumi is the illegitimate child of Gerald's mother. He is not good in cooking, unlike Takumi who has very superb cooking skills but, even though they don't have the same father, they really do look very similar, the only difference that they have is their personality and the color of their hair. At the end of chapter 51, it is revealed that he is up to no good where he commanded his bodyguard Cedric to fulfill his evil plan. Ueda is a student of Fujigaya who befriends Akira in her second year of high school. She is very tall and is the same height as Fumi. Ueda always has a calm expression on her face, and it reflects her personality, as she is not very easily ruffled and is not outgoing or outspoken. She prefers to stay out of the spotlight though curiously, she does not shy away from people or doing things. Ueda is recruited by Oono Haruka to play a role in the drama club's new play despite her protests that she prefers to read plays rather than re-enact them. She however complies and takes a position on stage. She is Akira's newest confidante as Kyouko is in another class. Ueda is rather amused by Akira's antics and finds the shorter girl to be very cute. She reminds Akira of Fumi sometimes. Much to Akira's relief, Ueda is very considerate and caring as she revealed to Akira that she finds the gossip in the class about the teacher to be crass and rude. Ueda works in the library as an aide.

Chi is just your average little mackerel-stripe kitten, who lost her mother and is taken in by the Yamada family. She is finding out about the world, the good (sushi) and the bad (the vet). In one of her little journeys, she meets a big cat, which becomes a sort of "mom" to Chi. Chi is very stubborn, and likes to play. She's also very affectionate and loud, which is not good because cats are forbidden in the apartment complex where the Yamadas live.
The father of the Yamada family working as a graphic designer. He cares for Chi very much and frequently is buying toys and snacks, and worrying if she is lonely at home. He also is forced to do things like bring Chi to the vet or trim Chi's claws. As a result Chi sees him as the bad guy occasionally, but she gets over it relatively quickly.
The mother of the Yamada family. She is a stay at home mom who cooks, cleans, and looks after her young son Youhei and Chi. She if frequently scolding Chi for making messes, and has to hide Chi's existence from the neighbors since pets are forbidden in the apartment complex.
