Later in the series, Jean and Nadia meet him again partially buried on a mysterious moving island, completely drunk and telling stories about a strange witch who inhabits the island (who naturally turns out to be Grandis). While on the island, Ayerton falls in love with Grandis, and to strike her, he pretends to be an English nobleman who's going to inherit a large wealth from his family. Ayerton is quite a weird, loudmouthed character, who is never really able to completely grasp the reality around him, and to tell good from evil. Sailor Iron Mouse is the first of the Sailor Animamates to appear. Her human pseudonym in the anime is Chuuko Nezu, which is a pun. In Japanese, Chuuko and Nezu are each perfectly acceptable names; however, "chuu" is the sound made by mice, and nezu can also mean "mouse." True to her name of mouse, Iron Mouse is very short, at least a foot shorter than her targets (Takeuchi's notes in the manga state that she is Chibiusa's height, but she is not quite that short in the anime). She is also afraid of cats. Iron Mouse has a very short life in the manga, only a few pages long. She appears in Act 43, in the Fantastic Music Hall during the joint concert between the Three Lights and Michiru Kaioh. She attacks with "Galactica Crunch" and is killed by Sailor Star Healer. It is later revealed that Sailor Iron Mouse killed the Senshi of her home planet, Sailor Chuu. In the anime, Iron Mouse's personality is both childlike and intense; she usually chooses famous or impressive people as her victims, seems to enjoy her work, and is openly terrified of Galaxia. She can warp from place to place using a phone booth that she summons and she can also use it to block attacks. Sailor Iron Mouse is the antagonist for several episodes of the anime, but in episode 181 is killed by Galaxia as punishment for her failure to collect starseeds, even though she had discovered the identity of Sailor Star Fighter.
Verg is one of Zorndyke's creations, and is the captain of The Phantom Ship. His most prominent gene splice is that of a shark. Verg cannot naturally speak human tongue, and has a voice synthesizer imbedded into his neck that translates his grunts and growls into human tongue, though his growling can still be heard over his synthesized voice. As one of Zorndykes "children," Verg refers to Zorndyke as "papa" and seeks his praise for his effort to destroy the Blue Fleet. Verg seems to have little regard for the other creatures on The Phantom Ship, frequently lashing out and injuring them in his fits of rage, particularly the "women," Mutio's species.
Origin: Tartessos, Africa Birthdate: October 28, 1843 Nemo is the captain of the submarine called Nautilus, whose purpose is to destroy the Neo-Atlanteans at all costs. He is a mysterious man with a dark past; in fact only step by step we discover that he is Nadia's father and the real Emperor of Atlantis. Though he could have all mankind under his command, he chooses to live peacefully along with them on Earth, as he believes in humans and in their ability to love. While he acts cold and aloof when he first meets Jean, he nonetheless warms up to his outgoing cheerfulness and enthusiasm. Nadia, meanwhile, is very distrustful of him and is quick to accuse him of murder when he shoots a Neo-Atlantean to save her from death. However, she eventually learns to respect Nemo, and, at the end, at last acknowledges him as her father. Nemo then dies after overloading the Neo Nautilis's reactors to blow a passage out of Red Noah, permitting the rest of the cast to return to Earth. Nemo's name is a reminiscence of the Greek city Eleusis, the place in Greece where the followers of Demeter met annually to initiate members into the ways of the Earth-goddess, and Ra, the sun-god of Heliopolis in ancient Egypt. He is based on Captain Nemo (literally meaning "no man" in Latin). He also bears a striking resemblance to another famous anime captain, Bruno J. Global/Henry J. Gloval of the SDF-1 Macross in Macross/Robotech. Additionally, he wears a uniform similar to Captain Junzo Okita from Space Battleship Yamato/Star Blazers.
Grandis is a 28 year-old woman. She was born into a rich Italian family, but is now broke and disowned by her relatives. She is the leader of the "Grandis Gang", a trio of jewel thieves. After being rescued along with Nadia, Jean and Marie by the Nautilus, she and her henchmen befriend the children. She develops a huge crush on Capt. Nemo. She also becomes a mother-figure to Nadia.
