Lily is one of Misty's sisters, along with Daisy and Violet. She's the third oldest of the four sisters. She made her debut appearance in The Water Flowers of Cerulean City along with Misty's other sisters. She is also one of the three temporary Leaders of Cerulean Gym. Both she and Violet tend to tease Misty more than Daisy does, and she also plays boyish roles in their water shows whereas Violet plays the more girlish ones. She made many more appearances along with Daisy and Violet in future episodes as well as in the Pokémon Chronicles.
Anime Greta appeared in one episode of the anime. She's a spirited, tomboyish young girl who's very passionate about Pokémon battles. She also runs a karate dojo as a parallel activity. According to Scott, her role models are Chuck and Brawly. Greta's sole appearance was in Wheel of Frontier. Before the battle, a wheel is spun to decide how many Pokémon will be used. While battles are single battles, the other Pokémon intended to be used remain outside of their Poké Ball until they faint. A running gag of the episode was that Ash and Greta were very similar in personality, both being fiery and passionate about battles. Greta used a Hariyama and Medicham in her battle against Ash Ketchum. After a hard fought battle, Ash was able to win the Guts Symbol. When Team Rocket interrupted the battle, she was already aware of who they were. She used her Medicham to send them flying after one attack. Anime: Spenser first appeared in the episode Cutting the Ties that Bind. He is a kind old man who specializes in herbal medicines, healing Ash's Sceptile when it apparently lost its fighting skills. While he usually rides on his Venusaur, he has a lot of stamina which is shown in battle. Spenser uses the whole of the island he lives on as a battlefield and so battles have an emphasis on nature and include a lot of running around. In Ka Boom with a View, Spenser used a Venusaur, Shiftry and Claydol in his battle against Ash, who used his Swellow, Heracross, and Sceptile, Sceptile learning SolarBeam in the process. He also has a Chansey, which he used to heal Ash's Sceptile. Manga: Spenser fought alongside Lucy during the press show-off of the Battle Frontier during its grand opening, using a Crobat with Poison Fang. Having touched the Blue Orb before, Spenser is able to recognize people who have once held the Blue Orb, such as Sapphire. Anime Maxie appeared in two episodes of the Pokémon anime. Maxie appeared in Gaining Groudon and The Scuffle of Legends. Maxie's goal was to expand the land of Hoenn believing that if so, the land would be peaceful. But at the end of the latter episode, Maxie realized the errors of his ways and finally changed his beliefs, now believing that the land of Hoenn is supposed to be kept as is. Manga Maxie does not have any fixed headquarters and moves his locations from cave to cave across Hoenn, ruling Team Magma like a barbarian gang, also making them more elusive. Because of this, Team Magma was able to steal the Scanner from the Abandoned Ship and both the Red and Blue Orbs. However, the latter was stolen by Amber's Volbeat for Archie. After Rayquaza halted the fight between Groudon and Kyogre, Maxie and Archie went insane and attempted to destroy everyone who had interfered in their plan: the Elite Four, the Gym Leaders, the Regis, even their own members. In the original Japanese version, Casey speaks with a Kansai dialect, which would suggest that she is from the Pokémon world's equivalent of Osaka, Goldenrod City. Adding to this is Casey's love of the Electabuzz baseball team, an analogue to the real world Osaka baseball team, the Hanshin Tigers. Not only is there a similarity in both Electabuzz and tigers being striped animals, but the Hanshin Tigers are known for having a very loyal fanbase. Casey has been compared to Ash in his early days of Pokémon training. However, they have different styles of training, and different tastes in Pokémon.
