Ginta Ayuhara is in his first year in high school and he is Kinta's younger twin. His first love is Ran-chan the younger twin of his brothers first love. He believes (like his brother) that they look nothing alike and have opposite taste in girls. But because Hana gave him the wrong information his love did not work out.

Kouta is the protagonist of the story. He moves from the country to the city in his first year of high school, and on his first day of school, he discovers that the second year girl Chizuru Minamoto is actually a fox deity. He used to live with his grandfather before moving. Kouta generally has a moderate personality and is indecisive. Apparently, his parents are dead and he lives with his grandparents. He loves Chizuru, but does like Nozomu too. When he was younger, he almost drowned in a river and now has a fear of swimming. In the end, he tells Chizuru that he loves her. Nozomu in response to this decides she will become Kouta's mistress which, to his surprise, Chizuru is fine with.
