Hermes is a Brough Superior motorrad (a two-wheeled vehicle that cannot fly but moves in the direction it's pointed—in other words, a motorcycle) who travels around with Kino. Hermes provides the speed that allows them to go anywhere they wish. Aside from his speed and capacity for toting about large amounts of luggage (Kino never seems to travel light), Hermes doesn't really have many other qualities except for constantly mixing up quotes and complaining. He is also rather gullible, trusting Kino absolutely even when Kino is teasing him, which leads him to grumble and complain some more. Perhaps his most famous line is "I'm bored." The motorrad is in many ways naive and innocent, and acts very child-like, which tends to be a sharp contrast to Kino's more mature and worldly bearing. Another officer who works with Megure and has a crush on Sato which is somewhat awkwardly requited. Takagi has an appearance of ineffectual nervousness, but he's not as useless as he seems. He is quick to assess a situation and take immediate and decisive action when necessary are points in his favor. Takagi's full name and kanji comes directly from his voice actor Wataru Takagi. Created for the anime (but later appearing in the manga), the character was originally an unnamed police detective, but during one recording session Chafurin (Inspector Megure) read the line "You, what's your name?" to the character, and Takagi adlibbed the response "It's Takagi, sir!", and he has been referred to as such ever since.

In a stark contrast to the series' previous prosecutors, Klavier, despite being a perfectionist, does not strive for maintaining a perfect record in the courtroom, instead making sure that justice is duly served by working with the defense attorneys to achieve the proper verdict. Unlike the previous prosecutors from the series, who usually displayed outright contempt for Phoenix, he is quite civil to Apollo when they run into each other. Despite this, he nicknames Apollo "Herr Forehead" (in reference to a contradiction Apollo pointed out in court, as well as Apollo's forehead being quite prominent). He studied law in Germany, like Franziska von Karma, and often uses bits of German vocabulary in his speech. His name is derived from the German word "klavier", meaning piano. His style of dress reflects his rock star personality; the collar of his shirt is left open and he wears a chain-link belt and a large necklace bearing his last initial. He claims he wishes to keep himself simple, because the rest of the world is complicated. At the end of Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, Klavier disbanded the Gavinners after their rhythm guitarist was convicted of murdering an Interpol agent. In the 3rd case of Ace Attorney Investigations, the Gavinner's logo appears in the stadium's stage. He often tries to tease his employee, Ema Skye, who calls him a "glimmerous fop". A transfer student at Tomobiki High School, Class 2-4. She is a girl, but because her father says the successor to the Hamachaya must be a man, he raises Ryuunosuke as a boy and insists that she is one. Because her eccentric father has raised her as a boy in order to run the Hamachaya, she behaves a lot like one and is quite violent. However, since she is in fact a girl, she hates being treated like a boy. She would love nothing more than to let her feminine side show, but her father interferes in every attempt she makes. Her first love was her elementary school teacher, whom she later realizes was a woman. Only Ataru Moroboshi truly treats her like a woman, but she handles it the same way most girls handle Ataru: with a hard left hook, not that it ever stops him.
